Multi-home owners, how are your points distributed?

Interested in your thoughts on RIV. We really like two of your home resorts, VGF and VGC. How does RIV compare to them?
Thanks, I love Riviera.

It does not have the magnificent, expansive lobbies that VGF and VGC have, but it does have a very cozy lobby, and a neat little library-like room that has some cool Disney memorabilia. We also love the little coffee shop in the lobby, which is super convenient. The restaurants (Topolinos, Primo PIatto, and Bar Riva) are some of the best on property, and relatively close to the main lobby area.

For us the upscale style of the resort is appealing. The RIV rooms are some of the nicest at WDW IMO. Everything has an upscale feel to it, in a different way than VGF, kind of like your rich uncle's house as opposed to your rich grandmother's house.

Then of course there's the skyliner, which is awesome and a great way to travel to Epcot and DHS.

For us the decision to buy RIV really came down to wanting an Epcot-adjacent home, but preferring a longer expiration date than BWV and BCV. The style and ambiance really clicked for us, and tipped me over the edge into buying a smallish contract.

35% VGF (direct) - direct benefits and SAP+
35% BWV (resale) - our favorite resort so far, we only use these point here
30% BLT (resale) - SAP+

Itching to add on more BWV points as we always seem to run out!

58.8% CCV (direct)
41.2% BLT (resale)

CCV was our only contract until recently, we love it and are always happy to stay there but have been trying the other resorts out as well (really enjoyed BWV this summer, Poly my husband wasn’t as thrilled with).

Our first stay on our CCV points was actually at BLT, which we LOVED (proximity to MK, easy walk to the monorail, etc), so we bought the perfect resale contract this year and are really excited to see what the refurb brings and will likely use these points just for BLT.

I’d really love a contract at a Crescent Lake resort but I just can’t rationalize a 2042 expiration date…maybe once it’s decided what happens to those resorts after 2042 (rebuild/refurb & resell), we’ll look at adding on in that area, that would be an excellent contract to pass on to our daughter

Easy for me: 50% BLT and 50% BWV

We are ambivalent about selling one of the two now. Kids are 11 and 14, and with limited vacation time (plus the older one is entering high school), we do not plan on going for 2 weeks at a time going forward....

BLT 55% direct, enough for 8 nights in a 2bdrm TPV when we wanted to travel at the time.
AKL 45% resale, when we realized we liked staying for longer trips, fell in love with the resort and needed more points.
Hopefully we'll be here in a year or two:

BLT 38%
AKL 31%
RIV 31% (resale), made the "mistake" of staying here on our last trip and everyone loved it. Restrictions don't matter to me since we'd want to stay here and I have no intention of selling. Just need to be patient while my wife is realizing we need more points. Right now she mistakenly believes we do not. :D

Big difference at vacation time too 😍
And I STILL don't have enough!! Ha. But I'm old and not feasible to add my contracts....especially ones like BWV/BCV that will soon go 'poof'. I so regret not buying in 1993 or whenever OKW/Vacation Club appeared on the horizon. I remember the kiosks oh so well but my mother always said to stay away from timeshares (she despised) so when I saw a kiosk, I literally walked away as far as possible. Grrrr.

I hear you! The "timeshare" stigma made me hold off longer than I should have too.

If I ever get a DeLorean I'll go back to the early 90's and buy a bunch of cheap direct points 😄

200 BWV = 55%
165 VGC = 45%

All direct, or bought via resale before restrictions so as good as direct. It's nice to have a "home" on both coasts and these really are my two favorite resorts..

So many great family trips using these points for the last 20 years but now being single and with my kids out of high school I'm renting and gifting points more than using them myself. I have fleeting thoughts of selling before the BWV points drop more in value, but then think I should just wait it out until grandkids come around...
