December 9: Well, today's plan was to spend the day at AK, then head over to CR for dinner at Chef Mickey's. We woke up to rain, checked the forecast (more rain coming!) and decided to do AK another day! I had actually planned 1 (possibly 2) non-park days into this trip, so it wasn't a huge big deal. We decided to split from the other 2 families and each do our own thing until time for dinner.
Dh, ds and I grabbed our ponchos and headed over to DTD in our car. We did a little shopping while we waited for Quest to open. We took ds to Quest for a couple of hours then headed back to BWI for lunch and naps.
Around 4:30 we headed over to the CR for our dinner at Chef Mickey's. The character interaction was pretty good; but not as good as at Hollywood and Vine. The food wasn't good at all. There wasn't anything really bad about it, it just basically didn't have any taste at all. The make your own cupcake thing was fun for ds; but the cupcakes were REALLY stale. This is not a meal I will be doing again. It cost a little over $70 for the 3 of us to eat; and I just don't feel like it was worth that much. After dinner we looked around the shops there, then took ds down to the arcade.
We headed back to the room pretty early so we could get an early start the next day.
I felt a little like this was a wasted day; but it really did give us time to rest and wind down. It was also probably good for the kids to have some time apart from each other!
