Multi-day ticket better than 4-day hopper?

I'm looking at the MYW prices.

If I'm planning on doing 4 days and hopping so I do 2 parks per day, it seems it would be cheaper to buy an 8-day ticket for 225 than a 4 day hopper for 263. I would just use 2 days of the ticket each day.

If I used 2 ticket-days on the same day for say Epcot and MK, would I have in-out privileges for both parks on that day?

Does this make sense?

That would save you a ton of money!!

However you can't do it :teeth:

You'll have to add the park hopping if you want to go from park to park. You cannot buy an 8 day ticket and use two admissions in a day.

sorry...

Is that stated somewhere? I realize it sounded too good to be true.

Many, many people have thought of this as has Disney. The tickets are coded to not work that way. Otherwise, why would anyone buy a park hopper?

From allearsnet ticket faq section:

Am I allowed to use two days off of my MYW Base ticket (non-hopping) if I decide I want to go to a second park on the same day as the first?

No you are not. The tickets are sold and the computer system is based on the number of days you have, not the number of park visits. Once you have used a non-park hopping ticket at any park, the computer system will not let you use it at another park on the same day.

The Disney computer systems will only take off one park day per calendar day on a ticket. If you tried to go to a second park in a day, your ticket would be rejected as being used already. There have been many threads in the recent past addressing this issue and the above was confirmed by some CM's on this board.

What if you leave the park for a nap and come back to the same park. Do you just have your hand stamped or does the computer know??

hopping is great - but if you dont need to - just do one park per day :) doing multi prks can be stressfull.

1) N o more hand stamps.
2) You slide your ticket into the reader, and have your fingers scanned.
3) If the fingers don't match, they know it is not you.

Surprise, surprise. One actually needs to buy the park hopper option to park hop. It's all there in the Sticky.

You can go in and out of the same park as much as you want that day. Your pass will work at the turnstile of that same park each time you attempt to enter on that day.
