Ok....I was at the store and saw Mulberry paper and remembered some of you talking about it for paper tearing...it was onsale so I had to buy it! I bought blue, green and white!
Now I have ?????
It didn't say acid free do you know if it is?
also how do you make the tearing look more uniformed I know tearing and uniformed shouldn't be in the same sentence but...it seems to rip differently when you go in opposite directions!
Not sure if I am going to like this stuff!

You have to wet it first to have any success at straight tearing. I dip my finger in water then run it along the line I want to tear. I then use a ruler and tear against it if I want a super straight edge, or just tear along my line if I want something more casual. I have assumed it is acid free since it is sold with other paper at my LSS. Good luck with it.

i draw a shape on it with a wet paintbrush and then tease it apart where it's wet - you get a really fluffy edge with lots of paper fibers sticking out.

I don't think it will tear well when it's dry at all.

I draw a line on it where I want it torn and then go over the line with a wet Q-tip. It is easy to tear when it's wet and nearly impossible when it's dry.

Just curious, does anyone know where online I might find a picture of this torn? I'd really like to know what it looks like and how someone has used it. Thanks if you can help.

Another method I use is to cut it about a half inch bigger then I want. I wet my finger tips and begin to Gently rub the paper between my wet fingers along the edge. It takes patience but you get this really furry look. I try to get the fur as long as I can. I use it as a mat or to back something like a nugget or a title. It's fun to use.

Oooh, I really like that stuff! I saw that in the scrapbook store, but wasn't sure how it was used. I love the look. Going to have to get some of that.

Thanks Bev. Yes, it really is pretty. I think I may have to try it somewhere. Here goes another trip to the store!!!

You are kidding!?!? LOL I was suppose to wet it!??! No wonder I didn't like my tearing....
I am hoping to scrap some this weekend so I will try it again!

Thanks everyone!

WOW! Bev I love the look of that paper! Mine didn't turn out that way! LOL! Good thing I have more to try!

You can go to the 2Peas gallery and search under Mulberry paper-- you'll probably find a lot of great ideas. I love the stuff though I haven't used much in my layouts yet.
