We are making our first trip out to Southern CA in late August. We will be spending 4-5 days in Disneyland and 2.5 days exploring Southern Cal. We are doing an LA Insider Tour and a Warner Bros. Tour. I will have a rental car and want to explore Venice Beach, Malibu Coast and possibly Mulholland Drive.

Do you have any recommendations for Mulholland Drive such as…

1. Day or night?
2. Drive it from East to West or West to East?
3. Best entry point?
4. Best scenic spots?
5. Any other words of wisdom?

Thanks!

I've driven mulholland many times from many different areas. I'm not an expert but my last apartment was along las virgenes road in Calabasas which was a "mouth" into the canyons and had mulholland access. My best advice to you is to stay away from it on good weather weekend days. Tons of cyclists, motorcyclists, and automotive enthusiasts drive it, especially a section called The snake. They often drive fast and outside of their skill level.

Also, another bit of advice... If someone is riding your ***, find a turn out and let them pass. There is nothing more frustrating than a tourist or slow driver in the canyons. ESPECIALLY when they don't have the common sense or courtesy to let people pass.

Checkout YouTube channel Rnickeymouse for some video of what I'm talking about.
