Trip report day1 5/6/7
We woke up at 6.30 and started to get our last few bits and pieces we were a bit lazy and ended up leaving 25 minutes later than planned! O-oh!
Then we got caught in traffic, we forgot it would be rush hour and we had to be at check in at waterloo by 9.07, we were about 20 minutes away at 9.00!!! I was on the brink of tears and to make it worse we had been driving on red for the whole journey.
We finally got to the station at about 9.15 and we were amazingly let through to security check! Then we were so flustered we didnt put all our things down and we kept beeping, so I put my things down trying to keep hold of 2 wriggly kids, then the woman starts to pad me down! Even my 4 year old son and my 20 month old daughter!
Oh my goodness then she goes to get a metal scanner for my head (on account of my hijab I guess)!!!! I was absolutely flabbergasted, so much so I had to smile to myself
, did she seriously think we had evil intentions, oh well security I guess, funny thing is they didnt check my beardy hubby who also beeped
anyway
Phew we rushed towards the platform and there were tons of people still waitng, it was about 9.45 by now and they hadnt even let people start boarding, when we did finally get on board we found out that they had had technical difficulties and we ended up leaving at around 9.55 or so-Thank God for the problems or we would have missed the train!!
The journey was ok, I was surprised at the lack of leg space considering Europeans tend to be taller people Im only 58 but still felt squashed even around a table for 4.
Well we arrived at Disneyland and didnt have a clue which way to go, we had wanted to walk but everyone we spoke to said to just get the bus, so we got the bus, the queue for check in was so long!
We got to our room and were grateful to have somewhere to sit down after all the stress! Phew our room was lovely and clean nice and simple with 2 bars of mickey soap and 2 plastic cups lol!
We were staying in Annie Oakley
So after we were refreshed we headed to the park yay!!
Went through bag check and headed to the park and we got there just in time for the parade hitting the bottom of Main street!! It was lovely way to start our visit of the parks.
Then we walked up to the castle and through to fantasy land and our first ride! We went on the Carousel
, then Small World, then on Storybook boat ride,
then Casey Junior.
Then back to hotel to sleep, oh and we had McDs for quick dinner! Day 2 tomorrow!
