Mulan Costume for DD's Reflection?? HELP!!

Hi -

I've been wracking my brains til suddenly I realized that - where else better to ask for help than where I spend all this time hanging out.. on the DIS!!!

DD is singing "Reflection" from Mulan solo for her school talent show at the end of the month. Size would be somewhere around 8-10. I have looked on ebay and even been looking for kimono style PJ's - also considered just a man's white shirt, black pants and a belted sword (to SING in??)

She's very fussy, tomboyish, not "princess-y" at all - all the fussy details and the slippers, purse of the full Mulan costume she doesn't quite care for, and I was trying to talk her into it, but I can't get the size anyway.

I don't even OWN the movie - she just picked this song and is singing her little heart out - and I cry every time at rehearsals.

Any ideas out there? Where to look or suggestions for making my own or finding kimono PJ's that don't LOOK like PJ's???

What about a plain (pink, purple, or pale blue) silk robe? Thats all I can think of. Sorry I can't help more.
