mulan and pochahontas

It's our 4th day out of 5 here at dl. what are our chances of running into pochahontas and mulan?

Probably low. I have heard Mulan can be seen in DCA on occasion, but I don't know how recent that was. When in doubt, ask at City Hall. They can tell you if a character will be out, the time, and where.

When I was there back in late May, we stumbled upon pochahontis by accident on the walkway headed to frontierland past the bbq area in front of the water. My DD6 actually spotted her. There was nobody there with her so daughter got real quality time with her. I've heard others on here say they found her in the same area, usually early afternoon.

Cool! We have never seen Pocahontas on any of our trips. We have run into Mulan more than once in the DCA Hollywood pictures backlot area. We have also seen Mulan at Goofy's Kitchen.

You should also be able to get this information at Guest Relations in DCA and the info booth at either park. Lines are sometimes shorter at these locations. The info booths don't always have this information ready at hand, but every time we've asked the CM has been happy to pick up the phone and find out for us.

I'm not sure how accurate City Hall is in Disneyland. In August my wife was hoping to meet Gepetto; we saw him one day but he was just leaving so we asked at City Hall the next day and were told he was too busy in his toy shop to come out However, later that afternoon he did appear right where he was the day before.

Not sure why City Hall was wrong about this, but I found the information given by CMs with the characters to be more accurate.

We found her here too. It was about 5 in the afternoon, we were headed to dinner.

I've seen Mulan at Goofy's Kitchen. I think she might sometimes be at Ariel's Grotto for the Princess meals as well.


Davic - It sounds like when you were in search of Gepetto, the CM's at City Hall were probably reporting whatever info they had in front of them, and either hadn't been told yet that Gepetto would be out or the plans changed through the course of the day and Gepetto came out after all when he wasn't expected to hours before. Whoever it is that sends the CM's at City Hall the master character schedule may have not given them the updated one at the time you and your wife went in.

I wouldn't rely 100% on a schedule from City Hall, but it's certainly a good guideline to have, I think. Trouble is, things always change. And there are always CM's who will tell you one thing while other CM's will tell you something different.

Or the CM couldn't be bothered to look - remember that they told me twice they didn't know when characters would be out. And I was hunting for Chip and Dale who are nowhere as rare as Gepetto.

As for Mulan, we have seen her at Goofy's at most of our visits, and at Princess Fantasy Faire twice. Also once in front of the Animation Academy in DCA, but I think there's not characters out at the moment, right?
During summer several people reported her seeing near Lucky Fortune Cookery on Pacific Wharf. That's the last I had heard.

As for Pocahontas, the only time I saw her out of the Halloween party also was at Animation Academy.

Whenever I go to City Hall they've always actually called to get the times for me of whoever I asked, rather than whatever info they had in front of them. Hasn't let me down yet.

I know Mulan has appeared at the PFF. I've seen her a few times over by the Hyperion Theater area of DCA, and once at Ariel's Grotto. That was the only time I actually met her. We chatted for a little while, but didn't get a photograph. She didn't ask if I wanted one with her (which I would have done), so that was that.

The only time I've even seen Pocahantas was last December at The Walt Disney Studios for The Princess and the Frog event.

Last year we saw Pocahontas at the HPBacklot just near the Hyperion at the corner to turn to go to TofT. We saw LOTS of characters there everyday of our trip. Of course, with all the construction now they may have moved some of them.
