Mugs-Very Annoying!!!!!!!!

Oh geez, you guys are making me more nervous by the day that we booked CBR. DD really wanted to stay there and we've done every other moderate so I agreed. Then I saw horror stories about the bus stops, now the bridge is closed, and now the drink machines?? We stayed at CSR last year with the new rapid fill machines, and had no problems mixing. I am really kicking myself for switching from CSR to CBR since I had CSR booked first.

Don't be discouraged about CBR. It was our first time staying there and we absolutely loved it. The soda machines were the only problem. I figured it was a problem throughout all the resorts.

No, it happened at POR last month over and over. The soda would either taste too weak or come out clear. My husband would tell them it was out of syrup and they would suggest trying a different dispenser.
One morning it happened at every dispenser, so he went to the front desk to complain. Then, miraculously, all the soda dispensers got "fixed". I think it's just so much traffic in the mornings they can't keep up with demand

Challenge accepted! I will book a resort next time there and report back! Hopefully they have setzler as I don't drink soda - but I honestly will and report back now lol.

They don't have seltzer. Just soda.

We stayed at CBR in Sept and Old Port Royale was really crowded with everyone refilling their mugs. The floor was a sticky mess too.

Happened to me at Pop several times last year. It was, indeed, pretty annoying. If Disney really wants to stick with the whole time limit thing, they need to maintain their machines better. It's just poor customer service otherwise.

How can any once drink so much, or want their kids to drink all that garbage. It's nauseating just thinking about.

Most annoying things with the mugs is when on your last day, someone steals them out of your stroller when you are eating. I love using them as a travel mug at home, and both ours were stolen this last trip while we had breakfast at the Cape May Cafe.

You can still mix sodas. I would get half of mine with Diet Coke and half with regular Coke. Just make sure to not waste time moving from one choice to another or you will have to wait til your time is reset on your mug. We stayed at AK Lodge in September and I think ours was 60 seconds allotted between refills.

The wait time is very reasonable (60-90 seconds seems very generous) and a necessary tool due to all the folks stealing soda/drinks.

The problem had to do with the maintenance of the machines, that is where the Resort failed you. Those machines should be checked and maintained regularly during open hours, and certainly checked in the morning before the food court opens.

Tried to get 2 different flavors in one mug and I couldn't and was also left with 1/2 mug of soda. Didn't try that again. ASMo is notorius for running out of ice in all machines. Happened multiple times. I guess the machines can't make ice as fast as its being used.

What exactly do you mean by free soda? Paying rack rates for rooms in lieu of another discount to get free dining doesn't actually make it free.

I'm being sympathetic. I agree it's not really free.
