Mugs Question for a POR attendee

I'm rather new to staying at the resorts and such. This will be my first time.

I keep reading up on these mugs. Does POR have these? How much are these in the beginning? for refills? Basically, I need some sort of info, I know nothing and I know this is something my fiance' and I will benefit from on our honeymoon.

Sorry these are all beginner questions but it's better to ask then to not.

Do not worry about asking questions . We are here to help. yes, POR has these mugs and they are good at POFQ as well. I am sorry I cannot tell you the exact current cost but can tell you they are worth it many times over as you can use them in the morning, noon, and night as often as your hearts desire. You do not pay for refills. You buy the mug in the food court section and pay as you ex. Then proceed to the drink section and do as you wish. on return trips you just go to the drink section and fill away. Unless you are buying some other food item you do not pass the pay station again.

Yes, POR has them. They cost around $12. You get unlimited refills for your stay at the food court. The beverages include hot chocolate, coffee, coke products, iced tea, fruit punch and maybe a few others.

I am a water drinker, and never felt tht I got my money's worth from the mug. It was an extra walk to get it filled, and I never wanted to carry a sticky mug through the parks if I filled it on my way to the bus.

I would pick up a case of bottled water on my way from the airport - (another strike against the Magical Express). And with the fridges for free now, you can pick up a case of soda too. Why schlep yourself to the "free" refill area for 12 (or so) ounces of fountain soda?
Maybe for Coffee? I am not a coffee drinker.

If you're going to eat in the food court area alot, and do consume alot of soft drinks, I guess it could be a good option. You have to weigh it.

The cost of the mugs are around $12 each and they are worth the money if you are staying several days. If you figure that drinks at the food courts are around $2, then after 6 drinks they are free. You can get that in two days some times. They are good for soft drinks, coffee, hot chocolate and iced tea, not for milk and juice. We have found that they good at meal times and also when you are by the pool or want a drink in the afternoon or evening.

My fiance' and I do consume a lot of soda (as well as water).

I have just one more question....

Am I understanding that the mug you purchase at you resort can only be filled at your resort? Not at say MK, BB, TL, ect? (Just want to make sure I don't assume anything )

Kathie. you are correct. The mugs are good only at your resort. There are 2 areas that are considered one resort with differant areas. A mug form any of the All Stars can be refilled at any of the 3 All Star food courts. A mug from either Port Orleans areas can be used at both. The main parks, MK, Epcot, Disney-MGM, & DAK have no mug program at all. BB and TL have there own mugs that can be used only at the water park where you bought it for the day you bought it BUT these water park mugs can be brought back on another day and you can buy a bar coded peel back sticker for less then the cost of another mug that will give you unlimited refills for another day. You can do this sticker thing over and over again.

I just returned from POFQ and purchased the mug for $11.95.....I think they are a great value especially if you are staying several days. I also brought bottled water from home and some other drinks but found the mugs to be great for meals at the food court and the pool, I have several from different resorts, they are also a great souviner(SP?) Have a wonderful trip, the grounds are beautiful, look into taking a horse drawn carriage ride around the resort in the evening.
