Are mugs available at Fort Wilderness? How much do they cost? Are they worth it?

We will be staying in a cabin. Are the cabins near the Main Lodge or scattered thru out?

Thanks!!

Well, a couple of things...There is NO main lodge. Perhaps you are thinking of the Wilderness Lodge. That is an entirely different resort, which you can reach by a walking path(a mile or so..or water launch or bus) The cabins are in Fort Wilderness. There is a sticky at the top of the camping board that offers you a map, and they are located in the 2000-2800 loops, as I recall. The cabin loops are off to themselves and not intermixed with the RV or tent camping loops. There are two areas where there are "trading posts" or where you can purchase souvineers, grocery items and the like. One of the cabin loops has a small un-lifeguarded pool. We stayed in them a number of years ago. Each loop has a bus stop that will be able to take you to the Meadow Trading Post/bike barn/Main Pool area..that is the closest trading post to the cabins. That is where you can purchase a refillable mug. Since there isn't a food court in FW, there is some question. as to whether they are worth it, since they are too be used only at your own resort. I would think if you are a coffee drinker it would be worth the investment as the Meadow does offer coffee and refills. The marina area, is where Pioneer Hall(home of the Hoop Dee Doo dinner show) and the Settlement Trading Post are located. You can catch the water launch to the Magic Kingdom from this area. You can also reach the WL.., and the Contemporary Resort..or at least you could during our last visit. I would look at the map it will give you a idea as to the layout of the resort.
I believe the mugs are $11.99?...may have changed but it's around that much.

If you are staying in a cabin, they do have a full kitchen.
Just about anything you would possibly need except for food.
Dishes, pans, full fridge/w freezer, microwave, range, dishwasher, toaster, sink, table and chairs...the whole deal. Even a deck, picnic table, and grill!
The two cabins we had actually had both a large and a small coffee maker.

Staying in a cabin I would definitely get a deliver from Garden Grocer if only bread, peanut butter, cereal and milk.
We only used the kitchen for sandwiches and breakfast, but it was really nice.

Some corrections re. the refillable mugs.

Mugs are not for sale at the Meadows. They can be purchased at Trail's End. Refills are available at TE (soft drinks, coffee, tea) and the Meadows (coffee and tea). Mugs are not resort specific anymore, and are now able to be used at all resorts.

Good to know.;) Actually now that you mention it I guess that was the way things were going, when we were at the WL last May they did offer both a generic Disney mug, and the WL mugs. When we visited the Trading Posts I only saw the FW mug.
I'm glad I have a WL mug. However, now I do wish now I would have purchased an official FW mug. Do they still have them available..or are they gone for good?:confused3

Looked like they were gone for good as of last October. Sorry, auntie.
