Can you still use your old mugs from the All Stars or have they implemented that new policy with the barcode?

Worms Everywhere!!!!!

I made the mistake of asking a similar question before my Sept. trip. It got ugly on here.

When we were there in Sept., the bar codes had not been started. There are signs that state that mugs are good for the Length of Stay. That said, the CM's don't pay attention and don't say anything if you use old ones. I even saw a woman filling up 20 oz. Coke bottles!!! I don't know how someone can have the nerve to do something like that.

Do what you feel is right. Use your old ones or buy new ones ($9.99 each in Sept.). BTW, we bought new ones on our trip.

LOL, Allstarfan! :)
According to the phone call I got from Disney Executive Offices....The rumor of the bar codes(in resorts) was just that, a rumor. I was also told the "official, official thing" (said sarcastically) is the mugs are only good for the length of stay, however the resorts have made up their own rules and if a guest has a mug, it will be refilled no problem. So, take that for what its worth(a can of worms?). ;)

I have suspected that the barcode thing was just a rumor. It would be too difficult to manage. Especially with the soft drink fountains located where they are in the food court (I've only been to Sports, but I think the layout is similar in all). There is no way to control access to the dispensers.

BTW, I wish I could take credit for the can of worms thing, but I saw it on Friends and have not had an opporunity to use it until now. It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen on TV.
