So on the deluxe plan you get a mug but it is only good in the resort you are staying in? Not at the parks?

The mug would do our family no good at all. During our trip last year we only used the food court once.

We had the "free" QSDP at ASMu this past Dec. We loved the mugs.....we would run by the food court first thing in the morning and fill 'em up...and drink them on way over to the parks before rope drop, in our neverending quest to be picked as the "family of the day" to open the park. And we would stop by the drink stations after coming "home" from the parks before heading back to our room. We just carried them in a backpack in the park. No big deal and were a great thing to have. Didn't have to drive down a cooler full of soda's and keep ice in the cooler in the room like we did in Aug '09 with free regular dining.

Enjoy

Although you can't use mugs at the parks, we loved them as well! We were on the regular DDP and decided to pay oop for the mugs because they were convenient and either way it's a souvenir right? We filled them up with coffee in the morning with our breakfast, then stopped to fill them up with cold drinks before getting on the bus and heading to the parks. We occaisionally used them during the day for water, and when we got back to the resort if it wasn't too late. The only mistake I made was not always having a backpack or purse to put it in during the day, and because of that I'm holding my mug in several of my pictures!

I'm just curious...Why didn't you buy refillable mugs during your Aug. '09 trip?

We had free dining each time and so we didn't get the mugs with the Aug trip. After comparing the cost of canned drinks versus the cost of the mugs, it was something like, everyone had to drink at least 6-7 canned sodas a day before the mugs became cost effective. We wouldn't have gotten the mugs for the dec trip if it wasn't for the free QSDP we were on.

Six to seven cans of soda of day for the mugs to be cost effective? The mugs only cost about $13. and are good for your entire trip! We always go for 2-3 weeks so the mugs are really cost effective for us. I can see if you go on short stays that they wouldn't be cost effective.
