Muddy Buddy Training!

Maybe John and Kevin will let you borrow their bikes. :rotfl2:

Seriously, what you four are doing is great. I'll be there cheering you on.

West Orange Trail is literally like 3 miles from my place....it is an AMAZING trail that I run at. Always packed with bicyclist, runners, and walkers. That may be my wife and I's answer to our bike problem as well...I knew they rented bikes there, but I didn't even think about it.

Do you want to check them out for us? I like that they give you a free bike rack too.

I'm planning on going for 3 or 4 mile run tomorrow I'll go there for my run and get as much information on it as possible for you guys. I'll tell them what's going on and what you guys are doing and maybe they can swing you a deal since you're doing the run for charity and what not. I'll see what I can do! I'll take some pics too so you guys can see the trailhead and what not.

Probably smarter to do all this before my run so I'm not panting while I'm trying to ask questions lol

Thanks so much.

I think striped shirts or bright orange would be best to go along with you four's work release program requirements....;) :rotfl2:

OK fellas, I need shirt sizes! I'm going to order the loudest color possible!

I'll be sport'en an XL, just out of habit. I'm a child of the late 80's early 90's so I wear my stuff baggy!

Hmmm, I usually go XL. Paul's surprising me with the L. I'll stick with XL though.

Some XLs are tents. Some Ls are skin tight. It depends on the maker I guess. Change mine to an XL please. :confused3

I'll go with the L. That should work.

Paul? Large? What happens if you get mad and turn green? :rolleyes1 ;)

Hey, I'm doing this with my 14yo niece and I'm also needing a bike. Any reason we couldn't rent a bike at Disney? We're staying @ the FW cabins and I know they rent bikes. Would the Cruiser-style bikes that they rent be wrong for this race?

Thanks in advance-
Donna

Hi Donna- My understanding is that the bike is really not all that critical for the race. The biker needs to wait for the runner for the last obstacle to go through the mud pit together. So any bike will really do. I don't know if Disney has any rules about taking the bike away from Fort Wilderness or not.

Paul, Are you doing anything different for this event? Your training is most likely advanced enough that you could run this thing tomorrow.

I'm not changing much Puck. I may break out my mountain bike when the weather clears up just to reacquaint myself with riding off road. At 41 years old I figure I'm as strong and fast as I'm going to get. My current state of fitness will have to do. If I'm not ready for the race now, I won't ever be. We'll find out in May!! :lmao:

Sounds like we are in the same boat Aaron :) We will just let Dave and Paul have the glory and we can get our moneys worth on the course! We will have more time to enjoy the scenery! :rotfl2:

I think it would be fun to finish the race together. All four muddy Disers crossing the finish line together shows solidarity, it's also a great photo op! :thumbsup2

That sounds good, but they also stagger the start and there is a chance that we could start 20-30 mins apart. As long as you wait at the finish line for us we can get photos ;) We can see how the race goes, I wouldn't mind trucking thru the mud with everyone, just so I can sling it..bwaahaaaa...
