Much different rates from 1/5 vs. 3/16

My family has year round school, so I was looking at possible trips for the weeks of 1/5 or 3/16. I got vastly different rates on a room only for those dates, even though it says its 35% for both.

For 1/5, I saw Beach Club at $267/night, but for 3/16, I got $360/night. Its disappointing as I would rather go in March when its a little warmer. I guess everyone would, which is why it is more expensive. But I don't see where they show that there should be such a difference in the rates. I checked all the other deluxes that allow five persons per room. They were all more for March. Even changing the dates around in March.

Anyone else seeing this variation?

Not really complaining, just curious as to the difference in rate when its listed as both time periods having the same discounts. :confused3

Because in January, the rack rate is the one of the lowest of the year during "value" season. In March, the rack rate goes up 50-80% for "peak" season rates.

We used to be able to vacation during value season every single trip. Now due to school we only go during peak times. It's always quite a sticker shock, that's for sure.

Your March dates are spring break dates for a big part of the country (me included).

Ah, yes. Peak season vs Regular season vs Value season.

I found the same issue when booking a few years ago, here is a great link that helps differentiate the seasons:

(and for Beach Club specifically: http://www.mousesavers.com/2014-beach-club-room-rates-season-dates/)

I hope this helps!

Oh that is a wonderful link! Very helpful for planning. Thank you!

And I don't know why I was so dense about the rates. Thanks for clearing it up, everyone; and without making me feel too stupid. ;)
