Has there been any tentative date for the opening of Mt. Everest???
We are going in late July and hope to ride it!!!

You should be fine. As of right now the official opening is sometime in April or May, although they've already done test runs on the tracks. We're going for a short trip again in late Feb., and we're hoping that there will be passholder preview rides by then!

Was just at AK yesterday and Everest is moving along. Didn't see any tentive opening dates as of yet. When I get home from the World later today I will see if I can post pictures I took (if I can figure out how.) They have the "snow" on it now!!

We were in AK in July 2003 and July 2004 and seeing the progress was amazing!!! Next time it will be on the ride!!!!! Wheeeee!!!!

The sign never said May 2006. The sign has always said "Opening 2006." The ride will most likely have its grand opening on April 22, soft openings could be as early as late January early February.

I just applied for the College Program for Spring '06, and it would be great if it would open during the time I'm there, from January-May.

But, my family is going on a week trip during the first week of July, so hopefully if there are any set-backs they will be fixed by the July trip.

Anyone know any of the ride details? I know you go backwards for a portion of it... To me it seems like a grown-up version of Thunder Mountain.

I saw on another website that Disney is trying to have the attraction ready to open on April 22nd. That day has some meaning. I believe it is the 10th anniversary of Animal Kingdom.

It is AK's 8th anniversary and it is also Earth Day. April 22 is the target date for E:E grand opening.

oh i hope it opens in april! we are hopefully going the third week in may. i hope it's not like MS - wasn't that supposed to open in march 2003 and then it was delayed for a few months? hopefully this date for everest will prove to be accurate. yay!

I am sorry to argue with you but when I was there last June there was a sign that said May 2006. I emailed Disney yesterday to see if this date was still valid and they said not ETA at the moment.
