Can someone tell me the differences between these rides? Are the 2 big ones just boat rides? Is the raft the only way to get to TSI?
I've been on the Delta Queen Riverboat (here in MS) and it is really quite extraordinary and fascinating, but is the MT just for the experience of being on a riverboat? If so, I think we'll pass. Or does it take you to TSI too? :confused3 I think we may like to go on Columbia to see the inside. How long do each take (not including wait time?).
I am hammering out our touring schedule and trying to decide if we should tour these or skip in favor of other attraction. Thanks!

The rafts are the only way to the island. Neither the Columbia or Mark Twain make stops at the island. If they are running the Columbia, then jump on it, it rarely is in service and as a result it is always a treat to ride it.

The S. S. Columbia takes about 12 minutes to circle TSI. Be sure to visit below deck, to view the galley and living quarters. ;)

It usually only operates during busier times. When it's available, it opens at 11 am, and closes at dusk.

HTH :earsboy:

Thanks! Columbia should be operating during spring break? and it's good to know the hours of operation. I think we will plan on Columbia for a nice afternoon break, skip MT, and take the rafts. :disrocks:

MT and Columbia take the same track around the river. So you'll see the same things whichever one you pick. I think you're wise to pick the one that would be something different for you!
