msn and espn

Disney signed a deal with MSN to be the exclusive provider of sports info for the service. They did this on the heals of not going after the NFL.com renewal... that went to a combination of AOL, Sportsline.com, and CBS. It's a smart move, in my opinion, just makes for a lot of banners and one goofy URL.

Well, the high fees that the NFL wanted for the renewal also played into this factor... add to that fact that Sportsline.com really needed this to stay alive, and you have them wrestling away the contract.
