MSEP Premiere party

I remember when they were selling those for $50/per bulb. They said the parade was going away and would never be back. I wanted one of those lightbulbs, but never bought one.

Sorry to read you are in the hospital. I hope everything goes well with that.

Mine was a gift and a bit nicer wrap, still have it... They are running between $100 AND $200 currently.

So fr, everything is good (best expectations in the recovery).. :) Thanks for the good thoughts

Does anyone know what rides or sections of the park are not open tonight during the party

Well, 5:30 PM in Anaheim, and no rain since the AM, looks like Disney will get lucky and the rain holds off until after the parade is over. (Guess the rain will start around 11 PM based on weather.com)

So to those going, please be safe on the road driving and on the sidewalks walking..... And dress warmly, it will be in the low 50's.

Looking forward to a video of the entire parade in a few hours....

Wonder if Facebook Live might have it....

OK, I answered by own questions...

Looks like they will do an 8 PM PST parade, and it will be live streamed at the link below, though there might be others.

And maybe the guests will get lucky with a second performance around 10 PM (rain permitting) to get them back to the barn storage area instead of waiting for after closing and the last guest leaves to return the floats to storage (Looks like it will be raining strong (for SoCal) by then.)

Trying to watch the live feed and it hasn't started. They said 9pm now for anybody else trying.

Looks like about a 9:15 PM PST start based on the camera location, live feed with the pre-show music (disco) coming from the park speakers.

There is a tech issue on that wd link. So at this time it can only be watched on their periscope. Great if you have the app. They say as soon as they can get their live stream back, they will continue to show it.

OK, some thoughts, though I am going to hold of on many until I can see a full video that was done from a tripod..

Missed the opening due to the video problems, which I really wanted to see, such is life, but shows why Max Pass might cause a lot of issues in regards to Cell Phone Networks.

The music wasn't the "original" (From 2009) and wished it was just a cleaned up version from the 70's, edited due to the change in floats. But I expected a newer version before tonight.

Glad to see that most of the floats and performers (including costumes) are from the 70's, even if they are just recreations of the original.

Should be interesting to see how this does with the "regular guest" and that means the locals using the 3 day SoCal ticket offer. Does it drive sales at a good number. That is the key to what happens after June 18th, the current ending date announced by Disney. They could switch back to Paint the Night if they are ready to return from refurb on that date.

Do they just switch the ending date until the start of Fantasmic!, and do a new Marketing promo featuring all the returning things opening in July (hopefully), or do they extend it until the start of the Christmas Season or the early 2018 changeover...

The more 3 day tickets get sold, and how folks respond to the Disney Surveys after entering the park (aka did the MSEP play a part in your decision to come today, etc...), the longer it will remain, And when they get to that decision, get prepared for another Marketing ploy such as selling the Lights off the floats again, like the did in the 1990's...

Should be interesting to watch. I definitely will find a weeknight in the near future with a predicted low turnout to see it in person. And find a good video tomorrow online to watch it again, and catch the start of the parade.

But glad to see it back, and I think a year or so is about the max life of the parade this time around at Disneyland

Was lucky enough to go with my hubby to the premiere party last night. It was great! I think the fear of rain kept a lot of people away ( and the $$$ ticket) . I have never experienced Disneyland with hardly any people but it was FANTASTIC . Most of the ride s were open and were walk on ! Most of the food places were open as well. The parade was at 9 and was brilliant. We just walked up at 8.55 and saw it from the curb ! There was 70s music playing through the night and everyone was in a great mood.
The free lanyard is nice, it lights up. I bought the special light up mickey ears and the pin.
I have been to the Halloween party every year and this was waaay better. No crowds.

It was great. Reminded me of when I was a kid/young adult. That's what it used to be like. I loved the non Disney music playing loudly everywhere. I danced everywhere that I went. I hope they have more events like this one. It was very nostalgic for me. My daughter and I were amazed when we walked through the castle and hardly saw any people anywhere. Peter pan showed a 20 min wait (I think it was really about 15 min), so we went on that first. All the other FL rides we did were walk on.

I completely agree. I think part of the reason for this was there weren't as many kids. The Halloween party is slated towards kids where this event, being a 70s theme was slated more toward adults. There just weren't that many kids in the park during the party compared to any other time. Of course the cold weather and threat of rain helped a lot, too.
