MSEP or Wishes Dessert Party??

The week that we will be in WDW there are only 2 nights that the MSEP and Wishes are available (at 8 p.m. and 9 pm, respectively), due to MVMCP. I don't think that our schedule will allow being there both nights.

So, if we will have seen the X-mas Parades and Holiday Wishes on Sunday night at MVMCP, what would you recommend for our MSEP/Wishes night on Wednesday? Finding spots to view both or doing the Dessert Party, which I understand isn't a great view of MSEP? Kids are 7 1/2 and 4 1/2. First visit to WDW. Will be in EPCOT that day so there's no guarantee that after we use our 3 FP+s there will be a FP+ for MSEP/Wishes, whereas the Dessert Party would be a definite if I got it at 180 days. Per preliminary recommendations of Josh at easyWDW, it's a crowd level 2 day, with EPCOT being the most recommended park, although MK is also recommended.

Thanks.

Find a spot (or spots) to view both.

You want to be able to see the new "show" that is actually projected on the front of the Castle,
"Celebrate the Magic," which begins about 15 minutes before the fireworks.

Below is a rough estimate of the Fireworks viewing spots
based on other posters' info on the boards and personal experience.

Have you thought of doing Epcot rope drop w/o fastpasses, and then pool or WS in the afternoon, and then fastpasses at MK in the early evening (including MSEP/Wishes). I only suggest this because your original post mentions not being sure that you could get them. I personally would save myself the $, skip the dessert party, and possibly use the $ for something else on the trip.

I agree that the projection show on the castle should not be missed.

So we will not be able to see the castle show from the Dessert Party?

Yes, you can see it from the party (see image below.)
The response was about choosing a good spot if not going to the party.
