MSEP Dining Packages

Has anyone done either the Blue Bayou or Aladdin's Oasis MSEP package that would care to share their thoughts? I read from a few folks who said the Aladdin package had a VERY small reserved space with people lining up an hour before the parade. Just wanted to hear some more encounters before I fully commit to either!

I believe that's true. I don't think the area is small but people are lining up an hour early. People are staking out regular spots 4-5 hours early!

Great, thank you so much! Looks like I may go ahead and try the AO package. I don't want to try to camp out 4 hours in advance!

We did Blue Bayou yesterday. Our viewing area was directly across from the train station on main street. We also got souvenir light up lanyards with the package.

Awesome! I didn't know they were giving those out. How did you like the parade viewing location?

It was a great location. The only thing is sitting on the ground when you're not on the curb. If you get there extra early, you might be able to score one of the curb locations.

I did aladdins oasis last Saturday when park was packed. The area was large near it's a small world. Even though it was large it was still pretty packed in. It was a nice view.

How early would you say is extra early? For example, DLR Prep School posted that you need to line up 90 minutes early for the AO area to get curb seating. Is it that bad for the BB area? It sounds like WOC!

Hard to say. We we told to check in at 8:15 for the 8:30 show. I wanna say we were there around 7:45-8:00ish and those curb spots were taken. I don't know how long the people there had been there. But the curb all along main steeet in the non reserved area had been taken for hours.

We did Aladdin's Oasis on Wednesday Feb. 1st. The park wasn't crowded today but I am glad we did the dining package. We had a 4:45p pickup from Aladdins. Pretty easy ordering process and there were plenty of tables. There was only about 4 or 5 other tables being used. No problem ordering off of the kids menu for our 19yo daughter who just wanted the spaghetti marinara. We got to the reserved seating area about 6:40p for a 7:00p parade. There was plenty of people in the reserved area but it wasn't packed in. I was still glad we got the reserved seating because the other areas were packed in like sardines even though the park was not crowded. Parade was great. We haven't seen it since we were at Disneyworld in August 2014.

I admit I almost cancelled our Blue Bayou reservations completely my up next week but seeing how busy the parades have been I think it's definitely worth it as we love Blue Bayou as is. I'll report back after the 12th.

How far out can you book these? Do you book online or call the Disneyland Dining line? We are planning on eating at the BB anyway and I definitely want to see the parade from Main Street like I did as a kid!

You can make reservations online also....I think it's 30-60 days out.

Looking forward to your report! We were able to walk up to great viewing spots with about a 15 minute wait when the parade first returned. But the reports I'm reading now, along with the fact that the parade often seems to run only once a day, make me nervous about our repeating that lucky experience any time soon.

Last night (Thursday) there were plenty of people lining up along the parade route taking most of the curb side spots 2 hours in advance. I didn't get a chance to see the crowds closer to the parade time.

This is true, but more specifically when they fill in the entertainment schedule. I'm trying for mid-March and it hasn't gone past March 18th for weeks! I keep checking though.
