MS Was Open For Business On Easter

Easter is not paid as a holiday at either place where I work (24/7 transcription operation and an obviously 24/7 hospital system). We get straight time for it, nothing extra.

My husband works at the Postal Service Operations, also 24/7, and it is the same for him.

Easter isn't a federal holiday, so I wouldn't expect MS to be closed. Although I did not know it wasn't until I met my husband and he told me he didn't get Easter off, nor did he get holiday time to work it.

I am sorry it ended up being a bit of a PITA for you, though. :goodvibes

So when I called MS to waitlist my F & W preferred room for BW view I said "If you celebrate, Happy Easter." CM chuckled and replied "thanks."
When we are in the parks on Christmas we also try to thank the CMs for making our visit possible.

I'm actually thrilled they were open. My family spent the weekend with my sister's family and we were able to finalize an upcoming trip in April. I got on the phone to MS and was able to get the AKV Savannah view for 2 nights and then moving over to BWV and then to Vero! Prior to our getting together we've been organizing the trip over the phone with each other. As she lives 3 hrs from me it was great to sit down with her then get on the phone with MS. So I for one was quite happy they were open.

There are many, many people who have to work holidays so DVC should be no different.

My husband works for an online retailer. They are open 24x7x365 - so 24x7x365 he is on the hook. He works Thanksgiving Day (from home) every Sunday is the day ads are released, and there are always problems on Sunday, every Sunday. We are "cultural Christians" - Easter and Christmas are secular family holidays for us- but I hate to see the "Christianocentricy" of American culture. There really isn't any reason for it, and its exclusionary. If you want the day off, schedule the day off - don't burden others with a day off they don't need or want.

I think they should be open 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Or at the very least create an online reservation system.

this i agree with - if you can book cash reservations online why not dvc? not that hard - either the room with your preference is available or it's not - the same computer that says that the cash rooms aren't available for the picked travel dates can do both. or at least the system can.

not everyone can call during those times - some companies block out long distance phone calls even if 1800 or 1888 is toll free then they are closed when they get home after 5pm

it doesn't effect me but i'm sure it effects a lot of people.
