While driving my dog to the groomer, I suddenly lost vision in my left eye. At first it was blurred and I thought it was the heat coming off the road. But then all vision was gone. I thought it might be a migraine aura, but when my other MS symptoms started to flare, I knew it was that instead.

I ended up pulling over at a restaurant and grabbed a hot dog for me and a cheeseburger for my dog (I couldn't very well eat in front of her, now could I?);)

Thankfully, my vision came back within a pretty reasonable time, but it sure isn't fun to have these things happen when you're driving.

I do hope the rest of my day goes better.;)

How scary for you! Glad your eyesight returned. My 2nd cousin has MS, she is a year older than me(42) and has been seeing a slight increase in symptoms. Our annual MS craft show is next weekend, I will be thinking of you!

Oh, that's terrible! How scary.

I'm glad your vision is back to normal now. I hope the rest of your day will be much better!
BTW I'll bet your dog enjoyed the cheeseburger, though! :)

I hope you are feeling better. I recently learned a lot about MS myself. I am showing some symptoms, and over the next few weeks, I'll be going through some tests.

My Doctor thinks I might just have carpal tunnels since I have been experiencing loss of feeling in my arms and hands. I have however had some other symtpoms, such as vision loss in one eye and loss of feeling in my face. My doc *thinks* that the other symptoms might not be MS, but she could rule it out.

I hope it's just carpal tunnels, but the more I read about MS, the more concerned I get.

 At any rate, I am glad you are okay.

 Now that is scary. A friend of mine has migraines and sometimes they cause temporary vision loss. I cannot imagine how frightening that must be! I'm sending you some good vibes!

My, you sound remarkably calm. I'm impressed at your attitude. I'm glad you got your sight back and I'm glad you and your dog enjoyed your treat. That dog will want to be groomed from now on, dontcha think?

Sending my very best wishes. ::yes::

Thanks so much everyone. Scary, but I'm OK now. And yes, my dog LOVED that cheeseburger. I think she just came in to ask me if we could go back and get another one.:D

OK, I'm feeling very dumb here -- I really should know more about MS, but does the food help with the symptoms -- or was the food just to pass the time?

Glad to know you made it home safe.
My sister was just diagnosed with MS and it started with an eye problem. Very blurry, headaches, etc.

Be careful out there...thanks for thinking of your dog, too!

It was really just a way to get myself off the road - but since it was a restaurant, I figured a nice Texas Red Hot might calm me down. It did. Once again, comfort food to the rescue.

Although to answer your question, sometimes food really does help me. If I start getting really dizzy and weak, sometimes a meal will help ease the symptoms some. I try to eat regularly for just that reason. ::yes::
