MS point usage glitches- be careful! UPDATE!

The website is now showing that both my BCV reservations of 2 bedrooms w/ 2 queens in the 2nd bedroom have been cancelled! I did not cancel them! You know how few of those there are so I have been calling day by day this week to book them! The supervisor assures me that they are not cancelled, but it says in the Activity Statement that they are cancelled. He could not say anything that reassures me, but you bet if when I call on Monday if those rooms were booked by someone else that they are going to hear about it! Now I will be worried all weekend.

He also said that even the CMs cannot verify if you have points available, banked or borrowed because the system is wrong. They have to call their IT department who has the "old" system running to make sure they have accurate information. Scary.


I have been in the process of making day by day reservations for 2- 2bedroom units since Monday. I also have a reservation for this November using banked and current points that I made back in December. On Monday when I made the two reservations everything went very smoothly using both current points and some transferred points. The man at MS was knowledgable and the website immediately reflected my reservation accurately.

Tuesday when I called to add a day to both reservations everything changed. My banked points were back in my account as unused and 1/2 of my transferred points were used in my November reservation as well. ?!? The woman at MS said that she had to cancel one of my new reservations and switch out points with my November reservation. Huh?

Somehow with all their system upgrades recentl, the computer is now taking it upon itself to rearrange where the transfer, banked and borrowed points are being used. She said that the system always uses banked poins first, but it wasn't. It was taking transferred points and current points. The woman at MS was able to switch things out and eventually the website reflected things correctly again.

I called again today to add another day to both reservations and AGAIN all my points were used incorrectly, yet differently than yesterday.

I am hoping that when I call tomorrow everything stays the same.

Normally I wouldn't care which points are used where, but I am suspicious that my brother in law might cancel on our trip in 2008 and I want to make sure that I am using 2008 points when that happens, not my banked or 2007 points.

If you are still reading this, I just wanted to make everyone aware of this glitch. Please check the website or call MS if you need to verify where your points are being allocated.

I hope they get this fixed soon! As for now, I'll keep printing out webshots for verification.

Thanks for the update. I have to make a change to a reservation tomorrow. I will print out my points before I do it.
 
I agree, it's been a nightmare for me today too. I called MS 6 times and finally got a great CM. He could not fix the website. His supervisor said that there were going to be some repairs over the weekend and hopefully all should be OK next week ??? I had used all of my 06 bank points and was making some changes today and the CM said, I'll use your banked points. Me: I don't have any banked points. Seems most of my 07 points (which are not even released yet until April) went into the catagory that were now banked points. The CM agreed with me, that it showed that I had more points for 06 then was ever possible. Since the supervisor told him to just wait until next week to see if the changes fix it, there was nothing he could do. So pretty much now, I have 4 vacations planned and MS is telling me I HAVE to use my 348 points that I'm suppose to bank in September. It is so confusing. I kept saying, "I don't have any banked points, and one of the many CMs kept arguing with me that I do have banked points". So frustrating. I think my blood pressure went up today. I usually have great service. I'll be back on the phone next week if all doesn't straighten itself out.
 
Has anyone logged onto their DVC account to see if the website is reflecting the glitches, too?

I haven't made a reservation since January, but after reading this thread I went and checked my point totals. Everything is okay, but I think I'll hold off about calling and adding a day to our January trip until this is all sorted out.
 
Yes the glitches are showing up in my account on the website. I think that's why *no banking* right now. they don't want people banking points they don't have.

I'm holding off on making a reservations until it's fixed.

Yes the same glitches that we are encountering through MS database are the same ones we are seeing on the website. It is so frustrating when someone has manipulated your points without your permission and you get on the phone trying to explain and I had at least 5 CMs treat me like I didn't have a clue what I was talking about. I finally ended up with a great CM and he spoke with a supervisor who assured me that I needed to wait until next week to see if the IT staff can fix the problem. I'm trying not to think about it, but it just feels like unfinished business....I like to have all my eggs in my basket, or should I say points where they are suppose to be.
