MS is only up to 01/14 on DP ressies

I've been calling to check on a rental that I made on 01/23. I was told 10 days for a confirmatoin number. When I called today to see if I could add on ME I was told they are only up to 01/14/09. The CM told me probably another week until they are up to 01/23/09. This stinks. I want to make sure my renter gets their documents.

Does this mean that you don't know if you have a reservation? Or do they check availability and book it for you when you make the call, but for some reason it takes them that long to get the confirmation out?

The latter. They check availibility, take your info and write it up to send over to the dept that handles DP ressies to set up. But it takes forever and a day to get a confirmation number.

Does MS reserve the dates for you before they send the information over to the Dept that handles the Developer Pts. If they don't reserve than you might not get the dates you need. This is my first time using DPs.

I called on 1/23 also to book SSR on my DPs. I was told a few times by the CM that I DO have a reservation and to start planning my vacation. It would take 2-3 weeks to get a confirmation sent. I had a choice between regular mail or email. I asked for email. It's almost been two weeks now...so I figure any time between now and next week I'll get an email.

They block those dates and room for you so you do have a reservation but it has to go to a special dept to get it into the system. Thankfully my renter is very understanding. I actually did a three way call for her so she could here that the reservation in but just not set up in the system yet.

What happens if you are trying to make a reservation on short notice, let's say beginning of March (if there's available villas), and you don't get the confirmation email before your trip, so you are not in the system, but they are still holding your reservation, and the dates of your trip is upon you will you have trouble checking in? I'm so confused how these DPs work.

That I can't answer for you but I would reccomend you call MS and ask. I would think(hope) that in almost a month's time they would have your ressie number if nothing else.
