We just closed on our resale DVC purchase in November and made our first reservations, so I'm still in the newbie learning curve.

I was booking a room for my parents, and one for us - so two different ressies. I was able to get the first night at Beach Club like I wanted, and the third night - but not the second night, so I waitlisted those. The waitlist came through for my room a couple weeks ago. Then today, the waitlist came through for my parents room. YAY!!

What's weird is - when I went on the DVC website, it had combined all three nights into a single reservation (well two single reservations, one for each room). I thought I had to call and request that they do this - I didn't think they did it automatically? Does this mean I don't need to do anything? We will be for sure not having to move rooms, and I can purchase the dining plan and it will apply to all 3 nights?

Also, the second half of the week, we are in two rooms at AKL. I'm guessing there is no way to combine with those reservations, right? So I'm going to have two separate dining plans, one for each half of the week? Thanks!

You can't combine reservations for different accomodations. So if one reservation is for BCV and the other is AKV, they cannot be combined. But if you have two for the same resort, same booking category, same size villa, they could be linked. A linked reservation means if you have the dining plan, it would be for the entire time. But you need to order the dining plan for AKV is you want it there.

Waitlists are processed by a MS CM. They are who linked or corrected your reservation to cover all of your stay. That is how it's usually done but sometimes they don't do it so you need to keep up on your reservations, contract(s), point usage and balance.

Same people in each room, same type of room, same resort? I think it's normal (the new normal) that it's combined.

Having separate dining plans for each resort just means you have to make sure it's on there. I'm sure you know, but it's not any more money to have 3 nights at BC, then more nights at AKV. Not like with a package reservation at the normal hotel, where you need tickets for each.

ETA, ohhhh, it could mess things up if you had a 2 credit meal in there, and needed 4 nights' worth of credits, or something like that. Now I see. So it might be detrimental. Sorry I didn't get that at first!
