Has anyone else noticed this? I find it very poor advertsing... :upsidedow

I thought so!!!! I saw both versions and thought I was seeing things, until I saw them both a second time. I agree....STRANGE advertising.

I think I have only seen the Mrs. Paul's down here. If you are talking about the minced fish commercial, it is one of my favorites.

Is this the one where the smart-aleck little brat says "Did you ever catch a minced fish?" and demands "real" fish in the next breath? I can't stand that commercial. I like fish and my kids like fish. We've eaten our share of fish sticks and we've eaten lots of live caught. But if one of my kids spoke to me in that tone of voice, all he/she would be eating for awhile would be oatmeal!

Funny. I've seen the commercial but would not have been able to tell you the company! DH accuses me of never watching commercials, usually I flip ... but I did catch the child's tone of voice - and knew it was fish sticks - just not who it was for!

That is the one!

I have the EXACT same reaction to that commercial! I want to smack that kid.

Cute little girl, but what 4 year old is going to use words like minced and flakey to describe fish sticks? All mine worried about was whether or not we were out of ketchup.

Aside from the attitude of the little girl, the commercial had a very 1970s feel.

I agree!!!
She looks to be a 4 year old (at most) little girl...
What 3-4 year old little girl would even be able to read the fine print labels and understand those words.

It is not even within the realm of 'believeable' or 'reality'.

IMHO, anybody who automatically jumps to calling a little adorable 3-4 year old girl (who is just making a commercial) names like smart aleck little brat who should be physically smacked, must have some real issues. :sad2:

I agree, who would even say something like that about a 4 year old. By the way, if any of you watch 24, she is the little girl that plays Jack's granddaughter.

It used to be one of my biggest pet peeves was commercials featuring know-it-all and smug kids with clueless, inept adults.

This one wouldn't have bothered me too much.

Get a DVR, that will settle it all. I had no idea what commercials you were talking about because I record all my shows. I despise commercials. Even the Evening News I tape. :thumbsup2

NO MORE COMMERCIALS. :headache:

And who exactly said she should be physically smacked? Hmm? Nobody. Nobody here is advocating corporal punishment for a mouthy 4yo. The child actor is probably a very sweet girl who is made to act like a brat for money. I reiterate, if one of my kids talked to me that way they'd be eating oatmeal for a week. Not because I would smack them--I don't smack kids--but because oatmeal would be the only thing on the menu. How 'bout them apples? Oatmeal, morning, noon and night. It wouldn't kill them but it sure would make them grateful for just about anything else.

I hope "Wishing on a star" has enough room in her wish to wish for a more tolerant attitude and smiles every now and then. Goodness, it's just a commercial; sounds like somebody needs a hug... Please tell me you don't babysit...

I saw the commercial since the last time this was on page one. I'll give another vote for the child behaving rudely. I never understand why some people consider this kind of thing "cute."
