Does anyone have any pics or know where on the internet I can view pics from Mr. Toad's wild ride? Did I simply overlook this ride as a kid, or have I completely blocked it from my memory? Maybe my parents forbade it; if it appeared the least bit psychedelic, they were probably afraid it would make us grow up to be potheads. :hippie:

Rode Pooh the other day, and saw the picture on the wall of Mr. Toad giving owl the Deed to the ride. Went to DW almost yearly as a child, but can't recall anything about the aforementioned amphibian... :scratchin

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride is still "riding" at Disneyland.

Google for images.

Well you learn something every day!

I hear they are planning to do away with Pooh!!

That would be a bit strange as Disneyland just BUILT (within 5 years or so) the Pooh ride where "Country Bears" used to be.

It would be a shame if they got rid of Pooh. It always seems to have a line, and for a dark ride, it is pretty cool. The special effects are good for that ride, I love when pooh floats into his dream.

According to UG, they are nixing it, though.

You do know we are talking about the DISNEYLAND Pooh ride being deleted, right?

The WDW version of Pooh is actually BETTER than the DL version.
The cars("honey pots") at DL don't BOUNCE with Tigger or "float" in the water scenes.

In DL, the Pooh ride is not very popular.
In WDW it is usually so busy you need a FastPass at many times of the day.

I'd love to see them build (re-install) the Mr. Toad ride in Epcot's United Kingdom pavilion.

I don't know if WDW Pooh ride is going anywhere, but just wanted to point out that just because something is popular doesn't mean it won't be taken away... such as Toad. There were even protests to keep it, but it was demolished. I know the Tokyo Japan Pooh ride blows the US versions out of the water -- and the Japanese LOVE it. :teeth:

The author of the webpage linked above, the Widen your World one, hopes that one day there will be a picture of Toad ripping a deed out of Piglet's hand displayed in Toad Hall. ;)

I really miss Toad, I saw it last summer and it was great in DL. :thumbsup2

I know nothing about DL. However, as previously stated, there IS, according to UG, talk of nixing Pooh at DW. I quote,

"Just don't expect it to be around for very long. Disney
is reportedly already eyeballing this portion of Fantasyland
(and former home to "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea")
as a possible expansion area. What sort of ideas are they
talking about? Well, don't be too surprised if, over the
next few years, nearby "Ariel's Grotto" undergoes a growth
spurt and eventually emerges as a full-blown attraction."

Unofficial Guide to WDW 2006 by Sehlinger, p. 459.

Bummer. I LOVE that ride. Pooh makes me happy.

What he's talking about is the Pooh and friends meet and greet/playground area across from the ride. The ride itself is not going anywhere.

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride was reason enough to go to WDW for a week. My family and I really miss Toad.

Ya know, sometimes you don't know what you've got until it's gone. I went on Mr. Toad several times in the late '80s and maybe early '90s (can't remember when it closed). I thought it was a really neat little ride, but didn't really give it (or WDW in general) a whole lot of thought. That is, until I had DS. WDW took on a whole new meaning and personna in my life and now I REALLY miss Mr. Toad and his wild ride. I can almost *hear* DS giggling and laughing throughout his wild adventure and I'm a little sad that he can't see it at WDW. All the more reason to *consider* taking a trip to Disneyland.

Really?! Awesome!! I was just there 2 weeks ago and was trying to videotape the ride as I was going through it, thinking it wasn't going to be there when I returned. :cheer2:

I was JUST THINKING that!! Dare I go to California for Mr. Toad?!

California...uncharted territory for this Mississippi girl.

Swimmin' pools...movie stars. :car:

Gotta love going to Disney and ending up in Hell. I loved that ride, and made sure I rode it several times when I was at DL last summer. LONG LIVE TOAD!
