Mr. Potato Head Questions

Can you just fill a box with parts?? I have read a few times when the CM will not let you get parts w/o a PH.

You can definitely fill a box with just parts. I've filled up 6 boxes and none of them have ever had a potato in them. I get my PH from Walmart or KBToys.

Just came back on Sunday. I filled 2 boxes with Potato Head stuff and 1 for MLP. The cast member working there told me it was fine to do either. You can buy the Potato and make sure you fill its trap door shall we say? or a box of accessories only. She even gave me the previously mentioned tip about turning feet over and putting stuff in them as well. The only prob for us was that DS(4) wanted a lot of head pieces (hats, ears, hair) and the Christmas tree. They take up a lot of room.

This tip is for people buying there heads from WalMart or Target and then just getting the accessories from the store at Disney.

BE SURE to get the arms at Disney. They are different than the ones sold with the regular Potato Head. They are designed to hold all the Disney Accessories.

I made the mistake of not getting them as I assumed the arms were just the same as the regular ones. So now, next trip to Diseny I'll have to fill another $18 box to get them.

since pny and pitato are the same price boxes and i want to get a pony box this year if there are a few potato pieces that are new since i was last there can i stick them in my pny box? TIA

I also have a tea cup ride that was in the bins at California Adventure park. I bought two boxes of parts when we were at WDW then seen that CA has some parts that WDW did not have so had to buy another box of parts. It is addicting!

How big are the boxes?

Are the boxes similar in size to the plastic boxes that you would purchase at Wal Mart? :confused3

Can't wait to get there and start filling my box!

can you call and order a box of parts from the store directly???

I was wondering the same thing? Has anyone called the WDW purchasing number and ordered the potato accessories?

Thanks!

My dh thinks our ds7.5 will not play with MPH, because he is too old. I think he will because of the unique parts. Any thoughts?

This sounds like so much fun :) , I can't wait for my DS to see it and have fun with all the pieces, and what an amazing way to remember the holiday. Also thanks to everyone for your tips :teeth:

Do all the locations have the same parts? I'm not sure we're going to DTD but will definitely be in all 4 parks.

Unfortunately no, on several occasions I have found different pieces when visiting other stores, sadly my daughter and I have filled 3 or 4 boxes with accessories between WDW and California Adventures and still do not have all the pieces. Some stores will let you buy individual pieces for $2 each. Mr. Potato and all his pieces have been a great source of fun and creativity for us so its all worth it.

Also the pre-packaged parts such as the beach bum and birthday party bags do not fit Mr. Potato as well as the Disney pieces in the bins do and I feel they were a waste of money as we just never use those pieces on him.

There are also "baby" potato heads you can fill the box with. We bought 2 baby PHs and the kids enjoyed dressing them in Disney gear. Good idea to buy the arms there. We didn't realize they were different than the ones we already had at home. Can't wait to see the MLP stuff on our next trip!

The box is not as big as the plastic "case" you get at Wal Mart, but you can really fit a lot of parts in there!
