I've seen posts from people who said they got a box of just parts and others that said CM's would only allow boxes with Mr. Potato Head included with the parts. I was thinking of buying a Mr. Potato Head to give to DS as a Tinkerbell gift with money and a note about were to get Disney parts tucked inside him. If we have to get the an additional body this defeats the whole purpose, so does anyone know for sure? Also how much is a box of parts? Thanks!

I know you can custome build a Mr. Potatoehead in the toy store at DD. Never done it so I dont know the specific answers. But you can build it. Why not have Tink give him a Gift Cert to build on of his very own?

in the year or so I have been on the board the concensus is not to buy the body there. Nobody has evere had to. The CM's just vary on how closed the box has to be. Some say tightly sealed and some let it bulge. I am bringing a body with me. You could start off with a Darth Tater from target.

You definitely can buy a box of just parts. I've bought 6 boxes of potato head parts and never once bought the potato.

A box is $18 and you can get as much as you can fit in the box as long as you can still close the box.

There are also parts you can buy separately, like the dumbo ride base ($5), the yellow poncho ($5), a cowboy set ($10), a pirate set ($10), easter set, christmas set, surfer set, etc. These are off to the left side of the MPH display at DTD. These pieces are not part of the box parts.

There is also a display of baby spud parts for the baby potato heads. They work the same way as the big potato parts but they don't have that many parts for the baby spuds.

Another thing that's great and free to do at the MPH display at DTD is to create your own Mr. PH on the computer and print it out. The kids have fun doing it and you get a free souvenir to boot with the date it was printed.

we bought 3 boxes just of parts! we were also able to buy extra parts at 1.00-2.00 at our hotel.... have fun...

Yep ... us too we bought just parts at DTD, cannot wait to get some of the new stuff & I didn't know about the baby spuds, are they new?

no, the baby spuds have been there for a while. There's just not that many parts for it, so I don't think it hit people's radars.

We also just bought parts last year. I bought the head "ahead" of time. LOL! We filled the box will parts and I tried to get mostly Disney exclusive parts. Ooops-I ended up with lots of autograph books, ice creams, etc. but I didn't get many ears and lips. Maybe next time. I also got the Dumbo and the Tea Cup-I think they were about $5 which I thought was a pretty good deal and easier if you want to display your spuds. :goodvibes

I thought this year we would check out the My Little Pony fill-a-box thingy.

35 days and counting! Yahoo-5 week mark! :cheer2:

it is the world of disney store in New York City that wants you to get the potato head. I think it depends on who is working though since I just bought a box of parts there and so did a friend.
