I've heard that WDW sells Disney Mr Potato Head parts...where can I find them?

Thanks all.

They are in the big toy store at downtown disney. I wish my DH hadn't left my digital at the academy or I would send you a picture of mine.

It is SO fun to pick out the parts! They have everything including mouse ears and WDW sandals for the potato head.

The store is called, Once Upon A Toy and you have to buy "a box" of parts with the head. Actually, I am not sure if you need to have the head in the box, but I do know it is around $28.00 (I believe?) for a box with the head and as many parts as you can fit in the box. My kids both have one and love it! :)

I believe that Gifts of a Lifetime has two sets of the WDW parts (one red, one blue) for like $5.95 or so.

I just looked at my receipt from Once Upon a Toy and the price for the box I stuffed with a potato head with the pieces was only $12.00. I bought this in September so I don't know if the price has changed since then.

We had a blast filling ours last trip. I think they were around $15 per box. As much as you could fill it and remember to stuff the inside of your potato! I wish now I only got one potato we filled two boxes. The kids had several bodies at home! The lady was so funny she felt my box and said what do you have in here! This is the heaviest one yet!
Tons of fun!

I am sorry...I meant to say it was around $28.00 for both of them with tax and stuff! LOL

You're forgiven Beanie!!! :)

Can't you get Mickey Mouse ears as one of the hats?

We were in Once Upon a Toy Store on opening day last July on our way home:( so I didn't get to look around as much as I'd like to!

How fun! Now, do you have to buy a body? Because we have several at home. Can we just get the parts?

You can get just parts. Here's a link to some pics of Once Upon A Toy........http://www.***********.com/id225.htm

Oh my gosh! My kids are going to stroke! Thanks for the great pictures. :o)

We filled up a box of these with no body, as we had a few at home. They have the cutest parts!! We got teacup shoes, mickey ears, mickey ice cream, a movie camera, sandals, eyes, you name it they had it!!! They also have some western gear sets that I saw in the store at Space Mountain. I think those were $12.00 a set.

We were just at Once Upon a Toy on May 26th. We paid $16 plus tax...$17.04 to be exact. It was worth that just for the half hour of air-conditioned entertainment we all had choosing parts and trying to strategically fit them into the box. In fact, after buying one box that day (for two kids...silly idea), I drove back at 10:30 that night to buy a second one while my husband and kids were sleeping! What fun!!!

My DD loves Mr Potato Head ( & Toy Story) so this was a hit with my family. And you defintiely don't have to buy abody -- you fill the box with whatever pieces you want.

Somebody else gave a good list: "We got teacup shoes, mickey ears, mickey ice cream, a movie camera, sandals, eyes, you name it they had it!!! They also have some western gear sets that I saw in the store at Space Mountain."

There's also an autograph book with Mickey's signature and a red Mickey balloon. At Once Upon a Toy Story I also bought the Western set (might ahve been called Frontierland) and a Pirates of the Caribbean set -- very cute!!

have fun!

Oh my goodness.
Just sold a Mr Potato head set last weekend at my yard sale yet we are going to HAVE to get this. LOL It sounds like a good bargain PLUS a lot of fun picking out the pieces and such. I looked at the pictures and wow.... my kids are going to flip out in that store. LOL
(oh and now I wish I'd saved that Mr Potato head- for his body to go with all those parts. Darnit... LOL)

I had to laugh when I read this. Last year when we were in that store, my dd (then age 9) was insistent that she wanted a potato head and she wanted the tinker toys. You could also buy them separately. I knew she would never touch the potato head once we were out of the store and I was in serious doubt about the tinker toys, so I told her if she still wanted tinker toys I could get her some for Christmas. By the time we left the parking lot, she didn't want either one of them anymore. It was the thrill and excitement of seeing them and being able to pick the pieces you want. OK, I'll admit it, I kind of wanted a set for myself!

When we bought the box last year, we didn't buy the head knowing we had a head at home.

We had 2 problems with this. First, my son wanted to play with it right away and couldn't. So if you plan on buying just the parts, bring your head from home.

Second problem, when we did get home, we found that our head had arms that couldn't be removed. So all the arm pieces were useless.

By daughter returned to Disney in May and bought my son another box, including the head. The price in May was around $16, but last year the cost was only $12.

This was a great souvenir, and my 9 year old is still enjoying it.

Thanks for all your replies!

My DH and I actually went by ourselves to Once upon a toy, and had the best time playing...I mean, picking out pieces for the kids. Yes, we went ahead and bought a head because we foresaw the problem of them wanting to play and we didn't bring the head to Disney with us.

We packed 32 pieces into the box! We were pretty proud of ourselves. How did we do?

It really was adorable. We literally just got back into our house, and my 3 year old is asking for it from the suitcase.

It was $16.

By the way, the special pieces like the Mickey Mouse ice cream cone and autograph book... only fit in the hand holes in the arms that you buy there so if you don't buy arms there, these touristy items won't fit. That's what the cashier told us anyway because she made it a point to ask us so that we didn't have the problem when we got home.

Well, got to go sift throught the 82(!) emails and bag of mail.

Thanks for all the input! We had a wonderful trip!
