I just wanted to thank y'all for the tip on getting Mr. Potato Head at Once Upon A Toy, in Downtown Disney!

After checking into our cabin at Ft.W, it was a rainy night so we headed off the DTD to get into the "magical spirit". We spent 3 hrs in 2 stores. OUAT and Lego.

The Once Upon a Toy store is awesome. We got the Mr. Potato Head - fill a box for $16.00. We got a ton of accessories and everyone had a great time playing with it. I bought it for my toddler, but even "Mousekeeping" played with it. We are still playing with it! My toddler is so proud of herself for making the faces.LOL!

I even went back and bought the pirate and cowboy extra packs.

One tip, if you see something you want at Downtown Disney - buy it right then. My daughter bought a PollyPocket type Ariel toy kit ($12.00 - very reasonable!) and when we went back 6 days later to buy another princess one, they were all sold out. The first night they had 3 huge sections of them - then gone! A CM told me some things go real fast.

At the Lego store, we bought some great Lego kits at 50% and the when we went back for more - no more sale.

Thanks again for all the tips!

Wow! Thanks for the useful tips. I can't wait to go and get our Mr. Potatohead accessories. Have several kiddos I want to make baskets for.....

Glad you had a great time!

Make sure when you get the Mr PotatoHead fill-a-box that you open him up! You can squeeze alot of extra stuff inside him and then still fill the box. As long as you can close the box, even temporarily at the register it's ok!

Also, in front of the Mr. Potato Head display there is3 or 4 computer displays that you can make a computerized version of Mr. Potato Head and print it out. It is free and really cute! The kids wanted to stay there for hours.

LOL, my DS was more excited about those computer things than the Mr Potatohead itself!

Money saving tip here...

Buy cheap Mr. Potato Heads at Walmart and at WDW use the fill the box for Disney accessories only.....

You could get enough Disney things in one box to accessorise 3 or 4 other heads...

The non-disney things there are the same that come with the one at Wal-mart.

this is what I did and I love mine...Does this mean that I am CHEAP or Frugal???

My boys loved "making faces" on the computer too.

Yes, I did stuff the body first and then the box. The 1st CM at the check-out insisted that the box close flat, so after some careful re-arranging I got it to shut better, the 2nd CM didn't care.

Photobearh, definitely makes you smart! I had thought about getting a body at Walmart, but we ran out of time and with all the kids I couldn't just get parts and no body, they needed something right then. Somehow I ended up with two right hands!LOL

The same thing happened to us! Somehow we got 3 pairs of different kinds of arms, all 6 of them are rights. Of course DS noticed as soon as we got home and was upset he had no left hands!

He bought him on the 3rd day of our one week trip. He had so much fun with him all week. On our last day we were killing some time before being picked up to go to the airport at our resort giftshop. He saw the frontierland and pirates of the caribbean add-ons and had to buy them. Well, he didn't get all the potato head stuff back out until we arrived home. Guess what??? He and my husband swear none of these pieces fit the original potato head bought at the potato head store. Has anyone else had this problem??

I've got the same question :)

Our schedule's already bursting at the seams without a DTD stop-over!!!

But the Mr. Potato Head deal sounds AWESOME! Especially if you pick him up at Wallyworld and just get the accessories!

Fits the one I bought at Walmart just dandy...

Thanks everyone for thinking I'm smart...:p It means soooo much to me.

Okay - this is probably a really dumb question - but what age is Mr. Potato Head made for? As in like age 2 and up, etc.

All our pieces fit our potato head.

I did see the "pirated addon kit" at MK as you exit Pirates of the Carrriebean and they probably sell the "cowboy addon kit" in Frontier Land. As far as all the other Disney pieces - Mickey hat, Soccer's hat, balloon ears, etc, DTD is the only place I saw it as a "fill a box". The did sell the whole Disney kit for $28 at Once Upon A Toy and maybe they sell it at MGM - near Toy Store stuff.

My little one is 17 mos and she plays with it, as does all my others, but especially the 4yr old. The baby is really good about not putting things in her mouth.
