I have seen (and VERy much appreciated) the My Little Pony DTD thread but I know someone mentioned that they do Mr Potatoe Head boxes as well. Has nayone had any experience with these and what sorts of accesories they have for them? If I do the MLP with my daughter I would like to do MPH with my son ;c) Thanks!

They have all kinds of parts. We got it for our DGD in Sept. She stuck with more girly accessories but if I can remember correctly they had Star War parts, Mickey parts, and others.

They have so many accessories for Mr. Potato Head that my DD has gotten just accessories on the last 2 trips and still doesn't have them all.

I thought it was funny that my DD9 still loves to play with Mr. Potato Head.

My girl is a Potato Head nut. We actually got boxes of the accessories for Christmas gifts for all the kids that we needed to get gifts for, one year. You can get all sorts of parts from Autograph books, Ears, Princess hats, Pirate stuff, Pin Trading lanyards, Mickey Head Ice Cream, etc......

Here are a few things to consider:

* If you already have the Potato, skip him there and fill your box with stuff instead.

* If you need the Potato, consider getting one at home and filling your box with stuff instead. They aren't that expensive and they take up a lot of room in the box.

* If you decide to get the Potato at Disney, make sure you remember to open up that little back 'drawer' thing that they have and put accessories in there as well to get the most out of your box!

I can't wait to see all the accessories...I'm getting a Potato and some cool decor to put on my desk at work....a little twist on the Disney magic :)

I also thought it'd be neat to get one for my niece so we can "dress" our Potatos the same sometimes since we live so far apart...

When we were at Disney World in December 2007, we went to the toy store in DDT (Once Upon a Toy? - is that the name). Anyway...we purchased a larger clear plastic shaped Mr. Potato Head chock full of a potato and many many many Disney parts pre-packaged. It was on clearance for under $10. It was a steal. We already had many of the parts from when my older son got from a previous trip. I don't know if they still sell them, but it's worth a peek.

Well, I don't happen to have any photos, but I can list some of the parts we bought:

Buzz Lightyear, ride vehicle and costume, Cinderella costume (hair, eyes, pillow wth slipper on it), Donald Duck, Darth Vader, Storm Trooper, tourist gear like popcorn, pretzels, Mickey head balloon, Pirate get up (patch eye, parrot, bandana), Tinkerbell, oh there is so much more that I cannot recall right now.

We bought a large, clear potato head and stuffed him with parts for around $40.00, the boxes were smaller and cost more like $20.00

Here is a picture that I just took of some of Katie's parts. I know she has more, but she is asleep and I can't find them.

Anyway, it will give you an idea! I labeled the parts in case you couldn't tell what they were.

my 2 year old loves mr potato head. she is always asking for her "taytoe head". We have three heads and some of the basic parts, so when we go on our trip, this will be her souvie to bring home! I think i'm more excited than she'll be. We are a big MPH family. :)

That's exactly what we did!! If I could add one more thing to that. If your child must have it all, consider paying the extra item fee for the largest feet or hats. They take up too much room in the box, also. That way, you can fit tons of small parts in the box.

Thanks for all the great info!!! I noticed from one of the links that they also have this service at AK...has anyone done it there? Do you know if they have a good selection?

We have every MPH piece from Disney (and beyond) that we have a full, hardly can close 20 gallon Rubbermaid with them. My kids don't play with them anymore, but still looked through on our last trip to amke sure there wasn't canything we didn't have. There was one piece, I can't remember what it was but they thought we didn't ahve it so I bought it seperate or $2. They were wrong, we had it, but no big deal. We love them. Got them every trip and in WoD in NYC. They are now tucked away for when we have grandkids. They are a great timeless toy for boys and girls (I have all girls).

One other thing, get arms! The ones in Disney will hold the accessories that your arms at home will not.

I wanted to thank everyone for the great info and pictures in this thread!!! We didn't get to do this on our last trip and it's a must for our upcoming trip! I never knew we could be so excited over MPH!!! :) Thanks again everyone!

Great advice. I'd also add...be aware that there are separate left and right ones. Double check that you're getting one (or more) of each.
