Hi Shannon,
I received both of your messages. As you noticed, I already had you on the list I didn't have your screen name, so thank you. Your screen name has been updated. However, regarding the cabin number...in your first email you said cabin 6002 and in your second email you said 2002. I put up 6002, but could you please verify this? Thanks! :thumbsup2

Is anybody doing any excursions?

We are not. With a small baby, we've decided to just stick to the ship. We would TOTALLY do whale-watching if it were the season for it (we did it last January on this same cruise), but the season doesn't start until December. Last year in Puerto Vallarta we decided to take a cab with another couple and go shopping. I would NOT recommend this. But...to each his own...you might love it. You'll figure it out!

OMG SO EXCITING!!! We have new people!! :cool1::banana::cool1::banana:

Welcome everyone!! I noticed some with boys near my sons age too :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Hi everyone,..my family and I have booked our first disney cruise and are really exicted. We have cruised before with Carnival. My two boys are super excited (7, 5 years old) and can wait to experience halloween on the ship. I am still trying to wrap my mind around this whole fish extender thing.. and am wondering what else Im missing out on.....I need a Disney cruise for dummies handbook.

No worries! That was us last year! DIS was an incredible resource. I felt like I knew so much more than the average newbie. I think it helped me enjoy our experience a little more vs. being completely lost.

Count us in.. i have emailed Jessica, since it looks like she is getting the FE list together.

I cant wait, now it need to shop for a FE!

I got mine!!! Here are some pictures:

Hey everyone! I posted about the "business" end of things but just thought I would check in and see how everyone is doing. How is everyone? :confused3

Anyone have thoughts on infant Halloween costumes? My husband and I are disagreeing, but I think I'm going to have the final say on this one. I'm REALLY liking 2 right now - a teddy bear and a lion (they are SO MUCH) cuter than they sound. Thoughts?? She'll be 9 and a half months old on the cruise.

I hope everyone is doing well. It's exciting that we've had some more people join recently. We can't wait for the cruise! :woohoo:

Gosh she is so adorable!! Feel free to share more!! We are good over here! Our oldest is super excited! The youngest, just turned 2. We've begun the passport process (doing one at a time so the cost doesn't kill us) We are counting down till the cruise for sure! We can't wait to see DL for Halloween as well! :wizard:

I am worried about the sea sickness factor for the kids. I know there are sea bands, but what other things can we do??? This is their first cruise.

Well, we're out. I got pregnant the week after we booked our cruise. I'm 13 weeks now, and I plan on getting our deposit back after I hit 16 wks or so. Have a great time! We'll be waiting until this little one is 3 to try again for our first Disney cruise.

Well congrats!! I totally understand your feeling on getting alone time. I am worried we wont get much with a 2yr old. :scared: LOL We were totally spoiled/pampered the last time because it was just US.

Welcome to the crew!!

Hi this is our first time going on a cruise. I managed to convince my hubby to do Disney which I love!!!!! Its also my sons 8th birthday!
Does anyone know of special arrangments that can be made to make it a little specila for him!!!!?????:hourglass

There are gifts and even decorations (that they will put up) that you can buy in advance to be in your room prior to arrival. They also will sing happy birthday at dinner with a special (yummy) celebration cake. We'll join you for a birthday party! :thumbsup2

So can we all get a consensus? who wants to participate in Fish Extenders? They are fun! we did them last cruise and the kids loved them!

We are in!! We did it last time and had a blast!

Is anybody doing any excursions?

I think we will be sticking to the Las Calletas one in PV. It's the only one that fits our family best. Not many let you take little ones. They have animals which my oldest will LOOOVEEE.

I heard great things about that one!pirate:

We cannot wait for this cruise and now that we have more people its even more exciting!

How funny! I went to preview this post and it said I had too many images! I guess I went a little too animated! LOL

Hello!

My hubby and I are onboard for this trip! Cabin 6511. :)

Look forward to sailing with you all!

Hey everyone! Has anyone considered contacting the DISign team to have them design us a logo for our sailing? Any thoughts on what we would like our logo to be?

Thanks, we sure think she's precious! I will include some new pics below.
First though I have to ask. Where did you get the Disney cruise ship patch? I LOVE it!!

Everyone - here are a few pictures of Lorelai! She's doing well. I'm happy to announce that she turned 5 months old this week and is thriving. She has even rolled over both directions - back to tummy and tummy to back!! :woohoo: Our pediatrician said most kids start cereals and stuff at 6 months but thought Lorelai was ready at 4 months, so she's been having cereal and fruit. She loves it!

I was thinking we could do "This is Halloween" from Nightmare before Christmas :thumbsup2

I absolutely adore her pictures!! She has grown so much!!

Oh BTW I ordered my FE already made from gradysmommy on ebay. I hear she's no longer on ebay and now on etsy. I ordered it a LOOOOONG time ago and apparently she was behind on orders because of vacay. I got mine later than expected. She also didn't respond to my attempts to contact her which I was annoyed at. Finally I just got an email that she was shipping it (no mention of my previous attempts to contact her). I hear she is or is going on vacay again soon. I've heard great things about her and her work is awesome, I just wasn't a fan of the lack of communication.

I wanted to say thanks for this information. I am really excited. This is our first disney cruise. We took the family on a cruise to alaska 2 years ago and loved it. I hope the Disney cruise line is just as fantastic. I am going to participate in the fish extender. That sounds very fun and creative. I will try to figure out where to sign up at.

Thanks

Hey guys just a quick question, doesn't anyone know if Pirate night will be on Halloween or on another night? My wife and our 14 month old daughter are going to be on the cruise. It's our first Disney cruise and we are very excited!

Thanks!

I am not 100% sure about that one.

We don't know if anyone else is out there yet - it's a little early, but we thought we'd "pop in" and say "hi!" We are past Disney Cruisers (we even did the 2 night/7 night Mexico back to back on it's first permanent west-coast trip), DVC members, and downright Disney fanatics. I am pregnant with our first child (yay!) so this sailing will be our first "family" vacation! :cheer2: The week before is also our 10 year wedding anniversary and the week after is my husband's birthday. I am due in January so the baby will be 9 months old on this cruise. We are ECSTATIC and can't wait for this trip! :woohoo:

What is a fish extender?
There is a metal fish outside every cabin door that can act as a hook or message clip, which is where the term “fish extender” was derived. DIS board members who participate in fish extenders hang fabric pockets from this metal fish and leave little gifts or notes inside the pockets for their fellow participating DISboarders. If you are participating in FE’s, know that there are no “rules” as to how many gifts you leave or how many days you leave things, as long as you leave at least 1 thing during the cruise. Some people will leave something for every person in each cabin where other people will only leave something for the cabin. Similarly, some people leave things once during the sailing where other people leave things several times or on several different days, sometimes even doing “theme day gifts” (i.e. pirate gifts on the pirate party night, etc). How much you participate is dependent on what you are comfortable with.

As a note – most people who participate in fish extenders also enjoy decorating their cabin door with magnets, etc. To get an idea of what a fish extender or cabin door typically looks like, simply Google the term “fish extender” and many images will pop up. You can also Google search for the types of gifts that are given on fish extenders and will find many discussion boards about it. Many of them even have photos of the gifts they received.

Where do I buy a fish extender?
You can buy a fish extender or make one yourself – whatever you are comfortable with. Ryan and I bought ours a couple of years ago on eBay and it was a great experience. We bought ours through eBayer “bonnysews” and it was fantastic – she customized for us and the quality was amazing!

Last year I created a little website to organize our cruise group. This is a link to the fish extender page I created for that sailing. The links appear to still work, so you can take a look at example fish extenders. You can even find bonnysews on eBay directly from this page.

Why is there a cut-off date?
The cut-off date is the last date that people have to be added to the FE participation list. A cut-off date is set so that people have enough time to plan, purchase, and make their gifts.

How do I sign up to participate?
To participate, send me a private message here on DISboards or email me directly at Send me the following details and I will add you to the list.

Your DISboards screen name
# of people in each cabin, including ages of any children
Cabin number (if you are in a “guarantee” cabin, let me know that too please)
Names of each person (optional)

We are excited to sign up.

MickelMouse
2 Adults, 1 Grandma, 2 Kids
Cabin number 8022
Donna (36)
Zac (36)
Ludie (77)
Carley 12 yrs old
Ally 6yrs old

I am designing my own fish extender. We have the pattern done with the faberic all cut out. Ready to sew.

The excited,
MickelMouse Family
