Yeah! After 6 hours of refreshing my search button on the DCL website, I finally got a Kids Sail free verandah cabin! I'm so excited to be joining this cruise and can't wait to get involved in the Fish Exc. The only thing is, we don't have our cabin yet but we have two kids, DD13 and DNephew 5.

It's me, my mom, my DD13 and my Dnephew5. I begged my mom to come along with DD13 and I. She agreed and we are taking my nephew who she babysits. When they offer a kids sail free you never let it sail pass I'm letting my DH stay home so he can pay for it

This will be our 6th DCL cruise. My mom's first. I can't wait to spend the time with her And I can't wait to see the cruise through my nephews eyes

This will be the 3rd time sailing out of San Pedro on DCL for me so if you have any questions I'd be happy to answer. DD and I stayed at the Crowne by the port last year and had a mini meet with other DISers at the hotel lobby/bar.

I'm very happy to get another use out of my Fish Extender. My DD12 at the time, absolutely loved it! I'm already all over the fish extender stuff now. I can just see my nephews face every time he comes to the door. Please remember, any extender works. I've seen bags, target bags, really nice personalized pockets, it doesn't really have to be a big thing. The only thing from my experience was we ran out. Because our thread just listed cabin numbers. But then you came across a number of pockets for each kid. I think moomy-san is doing a wonderful jester in listing all the children. Hey, my daughter was happy to suck on a sucker! It's all about coming to your room and finding something in the pocket...

Tonight I was able to book Palo brunch and dinner for my mom and I. And a Alone Time at the spa for me

{I tried earlier today and got a stateroom, by the time I ran down to grab my credit card, it was gone! I just kept trying!}

Yeah! Thank you for arranging all this! We can't wait! I noticed today it's completely sold out. Last night I could get verandahs but not with the Kids Sail Free offer.

Ok...how funny is it that I don't really care what my stateroom number is! When my whole family sailed on the MR a few years back I had a GTY stateroom with varandah. It had a solid wall. I'm all for that with my nephew because my mom is so worried about it!

We are on our first DCL sailing on this cruise and I had no idea what an FE was until yesterday, it sounds like a great idea for the kids. However, the whole cruise is a christmas reveal for the kids AND my wife Tara (DW? Disney Wife? Dear Wife?).

So that Tara can participate in the planning experience as possible, I have done the most minimal planning and booking needed. Creating / getting the FE and picking the right fish extender stuffers is definately something she would like.

With that said, is it too late to confirm for FE participation right after christmas?

I think we need to set a date for the cut off so everyone can get their gifts ready.

With the busy schedule of Christmas and our cruise fast approaching we should decide on a cut off so everyone can get ready. I always bring a few extra gifts just in case.

It hasn't been any trouble to get the list together! No problem at all

I agree we need to set a cut off... but I think we should wait until after Christmas for the actual cut off date. Maybe @ January 2 so any one who gets the cruise as a Christmas gift might have a chance to join our group and decide if they'd like to participate? Would that be a reasonable amount of time? If you have other thoughts, please let me know!

So the big question is...
When should the cutoff for FE participation be?

I vote for January 2.

Okay folks... I am 'officially' (haha) making January 2nd, 2012 the final date to join the FE exchange.

If you have questions/concerns about the Fish Extender gift exchange, please let me know ASAP so that we can have a realistic # of participants before that date.
Remember... this is supposed to be FUN!! If you find yourself stressed about gifts or the time/$$ to prepare them, please keep in mind that we have NO expectations as to the quality, value or size of your contributions. Individual or cabin gifts are both great and if you choose to only include kids, that is great too!!

Hope you are all enjoying your December! I am counting the days until the cruise but not until Christmas. How about you?

are we going to have a meet and greet? I was wondering because there may be cabin changes on the sail date. We upgraded on our Alaska cruise when we checked in and let everyone know our new cabin at the M&G. I organized the FE for that cruise and had a list for each participating cabin. We were able to make the changes at the M&G. This may not be the best way because not everyone will want to come to a M&G on the first day.

I have also heard of the organizing person (that is you moomy-san, with my greatest appreciation for you taking this on) doing a final list and posting it on their cabin, then it would be up to everyone to check the list (sounding quite Christmasie isn't it) to see if there has been any changes. If people upgrade at the port it would be up to them to contact you with their new cabin #.

I just don't want to miss anyone because of cabin changes. Worked on my FE stuff today, getting so close and exciting.
