MR BACK's Back!

Hey cheeringmom, Wilma isn't going to mess with you, is she? I talked to my DFIL last night & he's getting his & his in-law's houses ready (they are in Punta Gorda).

Wow! Lots of you are going to WDW soon. We leave the evening of the 10th, we are driving through the night & arriving at DFIL's on Friday morning. We are staying at his place for 2 days, then heading to WDW on Sunday, the 13th. We are having dinner that night at Marrakesh, followed by an Illuminations cruise! I can't wait!!!

No other news for me....oh, a certain gentleman from Las Vegas will be flying to Phoenix the weekend after, to celebrate our back-to-back birthdays

SWEET!!!! :goodvibes

WHAT'S SHAKIN' HOT MAMA!!!!!???????

Oh, man, I am soo tempted to get down there when you all are there in November but I don't think I can do it. I'm still workin' on it.

How is everyone in your house? Give us the scoop. Its been too long. How's you SIL?

You missed me posting a pic of Catrina. I will be posting another soon, so stay tuned a little.

Here's the link to the former picture:

She is sooo cute. I love the page!!! How in the hell do you do that? You must provide me with more information on the digital scrapbooking thing.

Hmm, what's goin' on here? Not too much. Josh is liking Kindergarten. He seems to have more of a mind for Math than English. Recognizing letters/sounds is what we are working on now. He really likes P.E.! :rotfl2:

Lainie-monkey is good. She can't wait to "ride Pooh Ride with Granddad". That's all she says anymore. Actually, her vocabulary is growing all the time. She's kwazy, as usual.

I think that's about it around here.

Oh, my DSIL just got back from a few days in Pigeon Forge, TN. They stayed in a cabin with my parent's & had a blast. Josh doesn't have Fall Break & since he's missing a week of school next month, we weren't able to join them. I'll tell her to get over here & post pictures from the trip.

Hi everyone!!!

DHB, Welcome back... we missed you. Please give hugs to your whole fandamily from us and tell your DSIL to get her overly-cute-red-clad-hiney back over here to give us the rundown. I would also ask you say Hi to the teens if they still talk to you on a regular basis... As far as my clan, IAN is growing and he is such a happy baby (although he has a few moments...) We are so lucky and blessed. We are planning on going to WDW on Saturday Night. Our flight into Orlando gets there about 4 hours before Wilma is set to arrive. I am not sure how this will work; especially since it will be my first time driving into the parks. This is IAN's first flight, I hope he does OK and I hope my dad is wrong when he tells me the storm might traumatize him. AA seperated our seats, so I am not real thrilled with them now. I am burning up a favor to get it fixed (AA changed equipment and our seats; the plane is totally full...) I have a few high powered friends, but I hate asking for favors, esp when people are always asking them for favors. RRBB has a cousin who works in special services that I might be able to call for help; I think our sitch would allow her to get involved.

Cheeringmom, My dad is also telling me that they will cancel the flight and we shouldn't go because it will rain the whole time. I told him that is possible, but it shouldn't rain for more than a day or two. GRRRRRR Oh well; will you be around the parks between 10-22 and 10-30??? We are meeting up with the NC's on Monday night...I am trying to meet up with Mad and Rick, but cannot get a comittment..... Go Figure...

CG, I hope Wilma doesn't turn towards you. that Damn looked awful shakey!!!!

Ibounce, Happy Birthday, and I wish we could see you this trip!!!

:earsgirl: :earsboy: I'm so jealous and excited about your trip...even got my fingers and toes crossed you get plenty of ride and F&WF time in before the rains come. And when (and if) they do, hoping Wilma scoots by quickly. Have a great trip! :cool1:

PS....any chance of me and Jordan being smuggled out in your luggage? ;) :p

Sounds likes a great trip!:teeth:...all except the part that you get to WDW the day AFTER I leave :sad1: ...sending PD that Wilma leaves DFIL's house alone! ::yes::

Ibouncetoo All this cruise talk is making me soooo jealous :boat:
We had so much fun last year, partly because of all the great DISer's we met up with on the cruise. Do they have Pirate Night and Pub Crawl on the 4-nighters?..if so, not to be missed! :teeth:

WELL THAT DOES IT!!!!

I decide that you guys are being so amazing about letting me tag along for your dinner plans down in Orlando that I was truly going to do it and I was going to book this flight - I got wicked excited about seeing soaring too, but it was mostly about you guys, really. So I go on this supposed low cost airline's web site that just came to town and low and behold they don't start their flights until December 22nd! :worried: :headache: We had vowed not to fly them anyways given our issue with Sanford airport, but this does it, THEY SUCK! By the way, its Allegiant Air out of Las Vegas. No way would I fly my kids on a small airline like that (we had a very bad experience where the actual engine fell off one of our planes when we tried the last low cost Pan Am flying out of Worcester) but I was willing to go and do it (as long as my will was up to date I guess).

So, long story short, no guys, I will stop talking about it because its not happening. Have a great time together and thanks geffric and ibouncetoo for being such awesome virtual friends!

This morning NC Beast bought 2 pina colada mixer bottles and a big jug of rum. He's planning to buy the refillable mug at both resorts.

Castlegazer--- have you tried JetBlue? US Air has a lot of good deals out of Logan.

They don't have this good of a deal. Allegiant was offering $39 one way as an introductory rate to Florida - which was what was getting me to think it was doable as a weekend trip down. Regular fare for President Day weekend is bad, bad, bad for all other airlines. Not doable for the ol' "honey I will just pop down and be right back" routine with the hubby.

ibouncetoo, I've cleaned it up so I am not full anymore.

:( Oh Geffric, I am so sorry. I just sent you a PM. Please know you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I really wish I could be there with you but please know I am here if you need me.

OF Just saw your info regarding AA changing your seats. I'm so sorry. I'm even sorrier to tell you my flight to Mexico 2 weeks ago was the ONLY bad part of our trip. They cancelled ALL of our flights going down and we got in 10 hours late, missing the rehearsal dinner for the wedding we were attending. They couldn't have been less help if they had tried. And you guessed it....it was on American. I will never fly them again. Hope your situation works out better!

 That's terrible you missed the rehearsal dinner, and I couldn't agree more about American Airlines. They've really gone downhill. In fact, we used to be Admiral's Club members but the perks and airport lounges are not as they used to be. Just curious, did AA offer vouchers or anything at all for such a long delay? :confused3

Nope. The first one was "delayed" so we missed our connection. Delayed by 3 hours, though! They get to count it as "delayed" because it kept the same flight number. They rescheduled our Miami-Cancun flight from the first one of the day to the second one of the day since we missed the first one. When we checked in for the second flight, they had just cancelled it altogether and told us we would be on the last flight out.....5.5 hours later. No amount of talking to supervisors helped. They give you a snail mail address for corporate and tell you to take it up with them. I *did* manage to get a voucher for a room in the in-airport hotel so that the kids could nap and we could eat somewhere besides in the terminal with a few thousand friends. But I only got that after making a witch of myself and basically demanding it and telling her I had nothing better to do I'd stand there and scream at her until I got an earlier flight out or a room for the kids to sleep in. Oh...and come to find out later, the original gate agent who told us there were NO other flights going to Cancun before their late one LIED. There was a Mexicana flight we could have made if we weren't lied to at every turn.

Oh...and there was no reason for cancelling the second flight given. There were no mechanical issues. "The plane has been taken out of service for the day." Could it be that even after cancelling that flight and putting us ALL on another one (only 2 people didn't show for the later flight) that plane was still less than half full? Yep. It was a money thing. They cancelled the flight 'cause they had 2 not full flights and didn't want to burn the cash. Didn't care that they were screwing with people's plans. Several newlywed couples also missed an entire day of their honeymoons. If they had just owned up to this fact a couple hours earlier, we could have changed airlines and gotten to the resort in time for the rehearsal dinner.

Yeah, like I said....never flying them again. Can you tell I was (still am) ticked?

 What a nightmare! Totally sucks but glad you stuck to your guns and gave them a piece of your mind. That airport hotel room was too little, too late...nothing could make up for missing valuable vacation time. IMHO, all these airlines need to follow SW's example...they definitely know how to fill a plane!

 Geffric--- We are so sorry about your father. NC Beast and I will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

Cadburysmom-- I thought that you were going to the fair? Don't they have fireworks nightly @9pm?

Jordan had too much homework so we're going tomorrow night instead...it'll be Food Lion can night so it's bound to be more crowded :( Oh well, as long as the free hushpuppies and other fav food items are still available, we're bound to have a great time! ;) :teeth:

Everything go alright dropping Jessie at the kennel? :dog2:
