So, describe your favorite eye candy.....:wizard:

Last night, NC B. and I were talking about what we would consider to be our "dream" trip to the Grand Floridian. Well, I told him that I want to rent a pool cabana and hope to get a cute pool boy to serve drinks & etc. Well, NC B. told me that he would hire Chippendale for me----I thought we said Chip & Dale. So, I told him that I didn't want Chip & Dale to serve me. He said "Even if he wore a tie?" I said "I thought you meant the characters!" :teeth:

I chuckled when I read this - cute story!!! :teeth:

Good Monday morning everyone!!!

How was everyone's Mother's Day? Mine was somewhat sad because my Grandma wasn't here, but also nice. It's always nice to have my family over :)

Have a good day everyone!!

Hey Slo - I'm sorry to hear about you missing your Grandma... I never knew either of mine; but got to "share" my best friends. She was a dream! I can still remember the smell walking into her home, fresh baked bread, cookies....ahhh the memories. I am glad you had a wonderful time with your family. Isn't family great...(most of the time ;) ).

NCBelle that story cracked me up and sounds like some conversations in my home with my dh! Thanks for giving me a giggle!:goodvibes

Castlegazer[/b] Where are you and where the heck is your trip report? :confused3 I always get bummed and depressed after vacation is over, sure hope you don't have the post-cruise blues

Hey, I am here!

Happy mothers Day to you all too!

You know, I started my trip report, and I may hold it back for a while. I was all glowy about our time in WDW and then I get on the cruise portion and I go all bad stuff and not a lot of the good stuff. I want to write one to help people who want to travel with wee ones, but I don't want to get harrassed about it also. I did not end up loving it above all other vacations and I didn't end up wanting to cruise again and again on Disney. I loved tons about it, but I had a lot to say that won't get good responses on the boards. I can see people being very mad about the little things that I would pick on. So, I am going to write it and then come back to it before I post it and hope that my feelings start being a little rosier about the little stuff as well as the big stuff. I loved the ship, loved the Disney touches, loved the shows, loved the rotational dining, but with each there were drawbacks (the ship doesn't have 24 hour dining or some of the nice touches that accompany the newer ships - and I don't mean the mega collasal things - I got soooo sick of lines everywhere for characters and when you did meet a character by accident in the hallway how you were immediately surrounded by pushing shoving kids and your little moment is ruined - I can't understand why the shows stay the same year after year and I feel badly for people who cruise every year, great shows, but I would not want to see them more than twice - I was underwhelmed by Animator's Palate but did like the dining room when it wasn't the "show" and I hated the noise level in Parrot Cay but loved the food that night). I would hate for people to think I was totally negative on the whole experience and jump all over me for being a DCL hater or something.

We loved doing the family crafts but the CM hosting it pretty much fell asleep while we were crafting - I kid you not, he nodded off - holy underwhelming experience. But we had fun together doing the craft. We loved the islands as we always do. In St. Maarten we went on the DCL excursion for the sea and see island tour where you go on the Atlantis Explorer semi submarine - AWESOME! In St. Thomas we went over to Coral World on our own and to Coki Beach and had a blast. Castaway Cay has got to be paradise on earth. I LOVED IT!

So, see, I just can't seem to write about the good stuff without some bad, and I just want to give the facts for people and not have to get into a debate about why we should have had a better time in some people opinions. We did have a great time - would I have liked to have done it in a few years more? probably. I think the kids just were a little young for it - so for that I say,
cruisingprincess you take the Hippo today! You called it! But, it did give us a night out alone to celebrate our anniversary which we wouldn't have gotten had we stayed in Cocoa Beach for the week and the kids really did love it and we got some amazing time together where I didn't have to cook, clean rooms, and got waited on by amazing DCL CM's! The kids also really enjoyed the islands! :thumbsup2

Castlegazer sorry about the lines et al.. IMHO I would have never taken my kids on a cruise, any cruise , at the pre school age for both. Too much maintenance for me. ( and this being said from a person that took her kids at 2 years and 4 months respectively to WDW for the first time.LOL) So I can see that your experience was less than magical. My kids first went on the Magic at 7 and 5 and the whole experience is different, plus at that time there wasn't as much character stuff as now. ( and I don't have little girls in princess dresses either.) Of course now it is perfect 'cause i don't see the kids all week except for dinner.:rotfl2:

NC Belle great story.. gotta love those Chip and Dale stories..

Good morning everyone!!! :sunny:

Is this the second go round for the UN experience or is it a continuation of the experience?

It may sound like a lot of running to you, but it sounds like a lot of fun to me - have a great day and I wish him luck in his meet. I am in a depression not from being away from the ship, but from being away from my kids. I really loved being with them every day for two weeks and now I am sooo missing them during the day. :guilty: Catrina is in a really fun stage - ah hell, what stage isn't fun? (well, other than the tantrum stage ;) )

I am getting myself ready to be able to stay home as soon as my son gets to school age and a little over a year. I just signed on with a great Disney specialist travel agency, Kingdom Magic Vacations (.com), and will be starting part time as a travel agent for them to get started on it to have that as what I will be doing when I begin staying home. My friend antkim, is a travel agent with them, loves it, and asked me to join her. I had actually pointed her in their direction when she was first looking to go back into the field when her kids got a little older and were in school as I thought they were a great agency.

I am very excited as this is a dream job for me. They all think I am nuts to want to leave being a corporate executive, but for me, this is totally a dream job and my job right now is a lot of drudgery. I feel like I do this all day long anyways and I have been planning my friends' trips to WDW for years.

If this goes well, then I have it set up and established for next year when I want to stop working full time here at my current job.

OK, that was a lot of blah, blah, blah from me. Sorry. I am really missing my kids this morning as Catrina was really upset when I dropped her off.

What's everyone going to do this weekend? It may be the first time that we see the sun since we returned back home over a week and a half ago! I am so excited I am having friends over for a cook out! :cool1: Seriously, you've seen it on the National news, we are under water up here. My poor brother-in-law just purchased his dream home up in Maine, two days later after they closed he had 2 feet of water in their basement. The house had never had water before, plus they just moved all their random stuff like books to the basement and it is all lost now - made even more tragic since his wife is a poet and professor at BC so books are their lives and livelihood. He hasn't been able to get to work for a week now because the roads washed out. I feel soooo bad for them.

Hi CG.. This is the end of the year picnic for the UN group..

Sounds wonderful about the travel agent business, especially a DISNEY TA. what could be more fun!! My SIL does some TA stuff and has lot's of fun doing it but doesn't make any $$$ to speak of. But she is "just playing" every once and awhile.:earboy2: Hugs and PD for your poor BIL. and their wet and soaggy things..

We did something fun last night - WE BOOKED OUR CRUISE!!!! :cool1: :cool1:

We are cruising on The Magic in October 2007 :sail:

The girls will be the ages of 9 and 4, which I think will be perfect :thumbsup2 We are going to have so much fun - I am so excited!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:
