MP3 Players

My GD (12) would like an MP3 player for Christmas and I have no clue as to what would be a good brand to buy, plus I have no clue on how to download the music. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

PS: Also, would like to keep it under $100.

My husband bought me an MP3 player from Wal-Mart that's kind of the "off-brand" type thing, and it works great for me, and cost him less than $40 I'll check out the specs when I get home and add it in here.

Ohh! And to follow along with this, can anyone suggest a good place to download MP3's that isn't expensive? My daughter asked for some downloads for her MP3 player (NOT an iPod) and I have no idea where I might be able to find some downloads where I don't have to sign up for a subscription and pay a monthly fee along with paying for each download...

We enjoy our SanDisk/Sansa MP3 players. We have a few of them and they've lasted well. I've bought them at Best Buy. I have a 2GB one that I paid $70 for. As for getting music, if she has the CDs already, just upload them onto a computer, then download onto her player. You can buy individual music generally for $0.99 a song from lots of places - itunes, walmart or amazon, among others.

Woot.com has Sandisk Clip 2 GB in red, black, dark pink and blue today only until they sell out. They are 14.99 plus 5.00 shipping. I just ordered 3 for my 10 year olds. They are refurbished but it's such a great price that I don't care.
