MP3 player

I'd like to get an MP3 player for Audio Books. I've read a few things and know that features that make a good MP3 for music and books are different.

I'd like something with multiple bookmarks so I could even do more than one book at a time, easy transfering files from the computer to the player, pause function and a sleep function would also be great.

Anyone have a recommendation or know some places to look? I've found most of the reviews don't give all the information I want. Is there a store that lets you actually look at the MP3 players and review the buttons & screens?

I have a subscription to audible.com. They give you a free mp3 player when you sign up for a year or $100 off a player (including ipods). The free one they give isn't that great. I would have a horrible time trying to get back to the point in the book if Il ost my place.

My iPod is amazing with audiobooks. If I lose my place it is easy to scroll back to the point I was at. It alo bookmarks each book file I have. Including podcasts.

I've had an Audible subscription for several years now - at least four years.

I got the free "otis" when I first subscribed. A couple of months ago I upgraded to the Rio Forge because I wanted more memory.

I also wanted one that used batteries instead of being rechargeable as I am often not able to have access to US electrical outlets.

I think it ended up being about $120 after a rebate. The Ipods just cost so much more and I don't think any of them work on disposable batteries.

I don't have an iPod (have a phillips 2gig MP3 player), but I think they're the best for audiobooks.

1) You need the memory
and
2) it's easy to get back to your place

Best way to go is cnet.com and look at all of the reviewed mp3 players. There are hundreds of them reviewed and it can help you decide what you want.
