I had a 20 gig ipod that just died. Its never worked right so I give up. So what you reccomend to replace it on a budget? I dont do photos, Just music and I have about 3-4 thousand songs. Only major requirment is that it HAS to have a screen (I cant stand not being able to scroll through and pick a tune). TIA :thumbsup2

Sandisk or Sansa both is the same company. The mp3 players is idiot proof. I don't post site check woot.com and gotdeal.com they listing of good shopping deals.

I know bought off woot.com 2 25.00 dollars. I bought another from buy.com for 10 bucks. Both of the mp3 players work great. Also got a RCA at wal-mart to for cheap.

I'm not being snarky, but I'd honestly put the money that you might budget to replace your MP3 player to your feet issues? Your healthcare should come way before an electronic device as far as budget priority. I know this might not have been a planned for expense (as in, you didn't know your MP3 would die), but it's just my .02! I do hope your feet feel better once you get medical attention for them! :)

I am going go to the doctors when I can afford it, right now tape has to do its not in the budget to go running to the doctors.

Future- please butt out. My feet will taken care of when I get my insurance back in two weeks. This just teaches me not to look for help here.

Sansa- Arnt those the round ones that look like a egg timer?

Not as budgety as others, but hubby is mad for his Cowon D2. No, it's not a known name brand, but it's really great; he's gotten 3 techie people at work hooked on his, and listening to it nearly brought a brand new ipod owner to tears b/c he had spent SO much, hubby had so much more "space" on his, and the sound was so much better with the Cowon.

It uses SD cards, so it's infinitely capable of "upgrading", unlike the ipod of course. It can do videos...hubby has spent a great deal of time putting the movies we own into digital format so he can watch them on the bus or train. But his main focus is on music, and he's got a TON of music on 2 SD cards that he can switch out as he wishes.

It has a very clear screen. It's a good player!

Love my Zune:goodvibes
Me too. The best part is the subscription service, which is only available with Zune and Rhapsody-compatible devices. With Zune, though, for the same $15 per month, you get as many downloads as you wish, of practically whatever you wish, PLUS you get ten DRM-free MP3s to keep forever. So far, with the subscription service, we've downloaded 3800 songs into our library.

Humm didnt zune just have some big crash though? Whats the best part of a zune? I see them all the time and to me they just look like a ipod offshoot. Will it be easy if i get a zune or somthing like it to tranfer all my music from Itunes? I have alot of music

iPod had something similar earlier. And the issue was actually in an embedded component, so it affected another MP3 player, not just the Zune. Plus it lasted only 24 hours -- a very specific 24 hours (the last day of a year that has leap day) -- and fixed itself. You can't ask for much more than that.

Whats the best part of a zune?
Personally, it is the subscription service, that I had mentioned earlier. $15 per month and you can download practically whatever music you want, and as much as you want. (Plus, you get ten DRM-free MP3s, on top of that.)

I see them all the time and to me they just look like a ipod offshoot.
Not any more than any competitor is any other competitor's off-shoot. :confused3

Zunes are also wireless devices. You can synch wirelessly (instead of hooking your device up to your computer). You can also "squirt" songs between Zunes. You can also download from the Zune Marketplace, directly, via your wireless connection.

Zune also has an FM radio with RDS. RDS, on Zune, allows you to hear a song on the radio and tag it for download from Zune Marketplace, next time you synch. And if your Zune currently has wireless access, you can simply download the song at the very moment you hear it on the radio, using the direct wireless download feature I mentioned above.

Zune also has Zune Social, a social networking service focused on the Zune. You can get matched up with other Zune users, based on similar tastes, get recommendations, etc.

Will it be easy if i get a zune or somthing like it to tranfer all my music from Itunes? I have alot of music
Absolutely. No problem whatsoever, as long as the songs aren't restricted to your current device.

SanDisk may be idiot proof as Crazelion said, but I wouldn't trust their MP3 players as far as I can throw them.

About 18 mos ago, I recieved a SanDisk Sansa Express 1.0 gig MP3 player as a birthday gift from DH. Now granted, it IS easy to use but I've had no end of headaches with it. You have to constantly check the website for firmware updates, because the minute you don't is when they update it and your MP3 player stops working without it.

I don't know if you download audiobooks or not (I do) and I've had some issues with it also regarding the Overdrive Media Console, which is the software one local library uses for digital audio book downloads.

I love audiobooks because it gives me something to listen to when I'm out walking or waiting for DS to get out of school.

I love my Sansa - I have 2 8GB, one for regular music and one for xmas music.

I would love to get a 16GB !!!
