Try taking a one of those lizards off the budweiser advert (a big Iguana)
You may get some funny looks but the Mozzies should stay away. ;)

Mandy44,

Just got back from 3 weeks in August. Did not see a mozzie in all the time we were there. We went prepared with our Jungle formula but brought full bottles back.

We didn't see any at all last October - not even down in the Everglades, unless my extra strong stinky Jungle Formula did the trick:D

Rarely get bitten by mozzie's. Unless you are planning to go wading through the swamps they are not a that much of problem in Orlando.

A good brand repellant should see off the few that are around. Plus bite cream, just in case.

A friend swears that drinking gin and tonic helps, they don't like quinnine apparently, so if you need an excuse for one..... :)

I usually get bitten dreadfully, but I got only 3 bites this time - a record for me!

In our experience, it's the 'no-see-ums' that are much more of a nuisance than mozzies in Orlando.

A nuisance, yes, but I don't think they carry the Nile virus.

I'm sure you've read all the usual tips, but I'll just add that eating Marmite is supposed to put them off! Can't think why - I love the stuff myself, but........... ;)

 In that case, then, bring the mozzies on:p

I HATE MARMITE

Hi Mandy
In 2000 i had 139 mozzie bite's i was so ill, last year i took boot's own brand mozzie spray with DEET in it, (don't buy the stuff without it it's useless) and i didn't have any bite's

Jean :p

We take Boots own brand Insect Repellent Lotion Suitable from 6 years + Contains 20% DEET. You can't be to careful with West Nile virus and Malaria about.

jj........ ;)

Last year when we stayed at POFQ we saw dozens upon dozens of them but we did not get bitten once and I believe the reason for that was Avon's skin so soft, it is a well known mozzie deterrent in the US, the mozzies hate the stuff apparently!

In the US they do a proper anti mozzie skin so soft but all of the produts work just as well I think. I got the dry oil spray and the bath products, it does really smell lovely... The only downside was DH complaining that he smelt "girly" and try to mask it with using some Lynx, but not a bite in sight!
I have ordered mine off the Avon UK website.

Just a little by the way.....

Buy the Soft and Sensual fragrance of skin so soft, the Woodland Fresh scent kinda hits that gag reflex at the back of the throat!

Been in October for the last 4 years and haven't seen any mozzies - hopefully this October will be the same.

My DD16 gets badly bitten by midges in Scotland where we live and uses Avon SSS so we take this with us but so far we've not needed to use it.
