Moving rides

While walking today, I was listening to some audio from Disney (which I found on these boards, thank you very much), and I started listening to the TIKI room music. Now I know that the TIKI room is one of those rides that most people head toward when they need a good nap, yet the thought of Disney removing it is enough to cause a riot. As I listened to the music, though, I couldn't help but think that this ride would probably be a lot more appreciated if they moved it over to the Polynesian Hotel.
So then I started thinking (when you're walking you have a lot of time to think), what other rides might be better off in a Resort hotel? For example, perhaps the Country Bear Jamboree, might find a good home at the Wilderness Lodge.
I know that you would have problems with extra maintenance, and ticket prices, etc... but so what, we're talking Disney, they can do anything.
So let me ask you, what other rides (either existing or retired) could you see in one of Disney's hotels.

Jungle Cruise, in AK - Great, that's the idea.
As for rides or shows, preferable rides, but if you have a favorite show, go ahead and mention it, after all, Disney is paying for it, so help yourself!! :thumbsup2

LOL - just wondered since the two you listed (Tiki room and Country Bears) are shows/attractions and not actual rides.. ;)

Stitch can go to some deep dark corner at the Polynesian... (or just a deep dark corner anywhere else...just GO! LOL)

Animal Kingdom lodge should be put IN Animal Kingdom - or have the Safari ride move to AKL

Personally, I would hate rides at the resorts. One, it would be just too much distance getting tp them. Secondly, I go to my resort to relax. The last thing I want is to feel overrun with a bunch a people. Put it this way, as much as people rant about pool hoppers, can you imagine the rants on the boards about people coming to there resort and getting in their way just to ride a ride? Trust me, not a good idea.

I also think it's best to keep the attractions all in one place. I would hate it if I had to travel all over the world just to find my favorites! Plus, how would they charge for them? Would you have to pay a separate admission for each or would it be part of your park ticket? :confused3

I'd rather see rides and attractions go to resorts than go altogether. For instance Carousel of Progress (which always seems to be on shakey ground could go the Contemporary Resort or POP Century (as previously suggested).

However, I'm sure this would cause Disney a few logistical problems - so sadly I can't see it happening. You can always dream though.

>"You can always dream though"<

Exactly, that is what this post is supposed to be about. IF, you could move a ride to a resort. Obviously this won't happen, but it is fun to imagine.
Now I realize that there are some humpty grumpties who want nothing to do with it, and that's fine, but for those of us who like to IMAGINE, I enjoy hearing your ideas.
As for my including the TIKI room and CBJ as rides instead of shows, that's funny, because it never even occurred to me that they were indeed more shows than rides. I guess what I was thinking about was long term endurance (a ride/attraction), as opposed to here one year gone the next (a show).

FYI: a "Ride" is an attraction that moves. The tiki room does NOT move, therefore it is not a "ride".

The same for Stitch's Great Escape/formerly Alien Encounter, it is NOT a ride either as you do not move or go anywhere.

Sigh - some people just don't get it. It's just for fun People!

No, I wouldn't really want the rides/attractions/shows moved. It's just playtime - using your imagination.

I would have to agree with this! :)

Oooh, I think this is fun, though! I can see the Haunted Mansion at POR. Or a variation of TSI in that neck of the woods.

Move em all to Saratoga Springs, then I don't have to wait for disney transportation.
:goodvibes
