Help give me ideas to keep on rountine and not pig out. (Which is all I seem to be doing since we got here) We are eating at the hous some of the times but we are getting take out over half of the meals.

Right now we are in temporary house until our new house is ready and my elipical is shipped to our new house. I have been trying to walk everyday since we got here but I'm so bored all I seem to be doing is stuffing something in my mouth, if I'm not doing something. I have been trying to keep healthy snacks here but the amount of them in not so healthy.

Things are so different here and it is going to be a few weeks until we get to our new house. Plus I can't find my scale so I guess that was shipped with the other stuff. I don't want ot find my scale in a month and find another 10 pounds.:scared1:

PaulaSue, take a breath. It will be okay. :thumbsup2

First of all, if you are finding that you are eating out of stress or boredom, you need to develop some good coping skills for this. One that works for me is to drink a glass of water if I feel the urge to eat. Another is to grab some veggies (carrot sticks, celery, etcetera). I portion these out when I get home from the market into snack bags with 1 cup per bag. That way I do not over eat. It is very easy to grab a prepackaged snack and this way, I choose the veggies over a more unhealthy choice. My third coping strategy is just to simply ask myself if I would rather have a apple or some veggies. If the answer is no, I am not really hungry and sometimes I do the glass of water anyway. I also find Extra gum helpful in these cases.

As far as being bored walking, there may be walking groups in your area. Start calling around to local clubs and even local running stores. They may be able to direct you to the right place to find some "friends" to walk with and cut the boredom down until your equipment arrives.

I hope this helps and hang in there. Moving to a new area is never easy!! Best of luck!! :goodvibes

Thank you for the ideas! I usually do all of them but with the move to temp housing I can't seem to do them right now. I can't wait until we move into our new house. I never though of looking for walking groups in the new area. I actually had thought of checking out other Mother's centers/groups but with my youngest 5 and starting K I figured that wouldn't work.

So how do you find out about walking groups?

I would try your local YMCA, the local running store and even maybe the hospitals for Weight Watchers groups who have scheduled walks. Maybe someone in the local mommy group can tell you also. My mom found out about hers at the Curves that she attends. Just finding someone to do something with will make a huge difference in your motivation.

Best of luck and I hope things straighten out for you soon! :goodvibes
