Sorry, but I can't help you. Maybe you can help me. I will be moving from NJ to Greenville, SC in May. Can you share your thoughts on the area?
There are many beautiful lakes in the area also. People in general are very friendly and I feel almost certain you will enjoy the area!Sorry, but I can't help you. Maybe you can help me. I will be moving from NJ to Greenville, SC in May. Can you share your thoughts on the area?
You have the four seasons (we originally moved from Fl, so we love that). We have great festivals in and around Greenville--Artisphere is a favorite and Fall in the Park is fun also.
When you are downtown, take a horse carriage ride and look for the mice on Main.
We have good hospitals (again, we moved from PCB, FL and we have a special needs child with multiple physical internal defects-heart, spine, ribs, kidneys, etc. It is wonderful not to have to drive to Pensacola or Gainesville constantly, all specialties are minutes from our home). To the OP - I might be able to help you a bit with Greenville, NC. Greenville is a huge college town (East Carolina), which is why I lived there for several years. There is a lot to do and it is a growing community with just about every store and restaurant you could want. One downside is traffic (Greenville Blvd around 5 o'clock is a nightmare!!). There are lots of bedroom communities like Winterville, Ayden and Farmville that are very nice for families. Greenville (NC) also has an excellent, teaching hospital and there are lots of jobs in the area.

We are hoping there is lots to do for families of elementary aged kids, the good thing is she is growing and will be in college in about 11 yrs, lol.Thank you for your reply!
We so far plan on living in Winterville. We are down to one daughter, a 7yo--our other children are grown and gone (almost 23, 22, 21 and 20).
We are looking forward to seeing the OuterBanks and fresh seafood. We are hoping there is lots to do for families of elementary aged kids, the good thing is she is growing and will be in college in about 11 yrs, lol.

If you enjoy going out to bars and that kind of thing you will like it. I don't drink and have no intrest in it. There is a bowling alley,2 movie theaters, a few museums. ECU and PCC are the big colleges. If you like the Pirates then football and baseball games are fun to go to see. (I am NOT a Pirate fan and happy to say I have never been and never want to go.) Traffic is horrible on game days and the major roads (Greenville Bld, Firetower, and Arlington) are horrible at noon and 5pm. There is a small go kart place on the outside of town. (It has seen better days.) The mall is average at best. Greenville is a couple hours from the beach. You can get to Raleigh in about an hour to an hour and a half. There are great restraunts. That's about it. Any other questions just let me know.If you like the Pirates then football and baseball games are fun to go to see. 0 Just kidding....I'm thinking about turning in my own sword and eye patch after last week's Military Bowl game
I was born and raised there. I still work there at that large teaching hospital. If you enjoy going out to bars and that kind of thing you will like it. I don't drink and have no intrest in it.
