We booked free dining when it was first announced for this yr. At that time we thought we would be going Aug 22 till Sept 1st. Now because of work commitments I won't be able to go then.

Is it possible to move a trip and still retain free dining?:confused3 We were looking at going Nov 25 tll Dec 4 now. Was free dining even originally running then? Also my inlaws have decided to join us. Assuming you can move free dining can you add a second room?

Thanks for any help, would like to know if it's even possible before I give reservations a call.

I am pretty sure you can only move it if free dining is being offered in the new time slot as well.

Can't verify that though, so hopefully someone who is more "in the know" can hel you out.

Hope it all works out for you :)

I beleive to keep the free dining you still need to be in the free dining period. As far as I remember (I booked free dining too) there was no promotion for the new time you want. It doesn't mean it won't be offered, but I don't think it was one of the original dates, and since its over Thanksgiving weekend which is one of the busiest times of the year, I doubt that there will be any promotion that starts until after the holiday weekend is over.

Any free dining had to be booked by 12/20/10 so I think your inlaws are out of luck unless they run a new promotion.

Thanks for the replys I wasn't sure when the free dining promotion was over. I had also not realized that it was one of the busiest times of the yr.

We went the last 2 yrs in Aug and Sept and the crowds were great. I hadn't thought about it being Thanksgiving in the states. Not sure if I want to go when the crowds will be heavy. We went over Easter one year and will never do that again.:sad2:

We went the beginning of November and it was great, nice weather and no crowds or waits. We left Florida right before the US thanksgiving as we made that same mistake in Disneyland and wow the people...........

Actually, the days you picked will be a mixed bag as far as crowds. While it is true, the week of Thanksgiving (Mon 21st-Sun 27th) will be extremely busy, the week after Thanksgiving is traditionally a slow week. The weekdays of the 11/28-2/2 touringplans have the crowds with only one day as high as a 5. The rest are 1,2,3,4. We actually will be there at WDW for these days. Spending a few days in the park after our cruise to enjoy all the Christmas fun in WDW!

But you can rest assured, there will be no free dining at that time.

Well, that's not entirely true. I'm sure there won't be any free dining over the Thanksgiving weekend, but I was at WDW from Nov. 30 - Dec. 5 in 2009 and we had free dining. It started the Monday after the Thanksgiving holiday,

Wow, really? That is surprising, since it gets really busy so soon after that first week. Guess you can never say never when it comes to Disney and discounting :)

I have to admit I was shocked when the promotion came out. I think that was the first time I'd ever seen free dining past September. I certainly didn't waste any time taking advantage of it though. I love seeing the Christmas decorations at WDW.
