I think I made a mistake. I was booked for Alaska in August this year using a placeholder that also had the OBC with it. I called when Canada announced the extension and they let me move it to April 2022 5n magic even though it expires Aug 2021. We decided that we still want to do Alaska in summer 2022 but want to keep the Magic cruise as well. (hey we are going to make up for 2 summers of missed vacations). Can I keep my magic one booked I like the cabin and the price I booked it at and just move my placeholder discount assuming Disney extends the time I can use this discount to Alaska and just have them tack on the extra 10% to the magic cruise?

Wow, that's an interesting situation. I would say call your TA or DCL and walk them through what you want to do. I just had to re-book my 5/24/21 Alaska as they finally cancelled it. They were pretty cool about working with my discounts and placeholder credits.

I will warn you, hold times are insane right now. The Costco Travel rep and I spent almost an hour waiting for DCL to pick us up from hold. But once we had them, they got us squared away.

Good luck!

Since when they move your cancelled reservation, the reservation number does not change, and since the OBB is attached to that reservation number, I think the would have to move over your Magic reservation to August and then make a new reservation on the Magic.

One thing you might consider is using a travel agent to book the Magic cruise once you've moved the existing rez to Alaska 2022. That way you still get some OBC even though you don't have the placeholder benefit.

@MomOTwins is right. The OBB benefits are attached to the reservation number, so you'll have to move your Magic cruise to Alaska to get the benefits. You'll then have to book a new cruise for the Magic cruise. If you do it quickly enough after moving the cruise to Alaska, you should be able to get the same room. But the price will be whatever the prevailing price is at the time of the new reservation.

You can keep your booking credit to use until Sept 2022. Many moved to dummy dates suspecting their cruises would be cancelled, and they were not PIF. This was to hold the OBB credit until the new releases came out. I confirmed last night the credits have been extended.

Yay so they have been extended to Sept 2022 even if your cruise they were attached to were not cancelled?

When we received our cancellation notice from DCL, I emailed our TA and she was able to retain the Placeholder 10% discount but only half the OBC.
