Moving a DLR Trip to Walt Disney World- Let’s Talk!

*****ADR ALERT*****

Tons of dining reservations for WDW have dropped overnight for Nov and Dec. I snagged Topolino's breakfast, Beaches & Cream and Oga's at times of my choice (and Oga's and Beaches were for 5).

REMEMBER- if in doubt BOOK IT. You can cancel free up to 24 hours before the reservation.

Nobody knows why this availability suddenly opened up, extra ADRs are available as soon as tomorrow. Maybe they increased capacity, maybe they held back ADRs when they originally opened. I'm sure we'll know the answer to if they increased dining capacity soon.
Welp, system has solidly crashed. Unknown if this was legit or a glitch. ADRs made during the time are still live.

We just got back from our WDW trip. We really enjoyed staying at Pop. I shared many of my expirences over on the WDW board. one thing is to study the maps! Its such a different layout there! A lot of the same tips apply to WDW as Disneyland.. the biggest that the early bird gets the worm! Rope drop. The parks/rides open 45-60mins before the posted opening time. Example: we rode flight of passage at AK around 7:30am for an 8am opening, were first in line for Mickey and minnies runway railway at HS by being let in the park at 9am for a 10am opening, rode mine in MK at 8:25 when the park opening was 9am...

Okay I called to find out bc I have too much time to sit and worry since I work remotely right now lol!

The CM I talked to didn’t think the extra dining reservations released was a glitch- the system itself just went down and is currently being worked on. I asked specifically about the possibility of reservations being cancelled and she put me on hold to ask a supervisor and she came back on and told me not to worry, that as long as I have the confirmation email and the dining reservation is also showing up in the app then I’m good to go. She did recommend taking screenshots if for some reason you don’t have an email. She recommended if I have any issues to call back. But overall, she was confident that I should not worry. She also mentioned she did a few reservations over the phone before the system went down for those newly released times.

So looks like they likely increased restaurant capacity and that’s why we saw so many additional dining reservations released

I'm sorry but [edited website] confirmed with Disney it was a glitch. "If you were able to book a dining reservation this morning, Walt Disney World is currently evaluating these reservations to see if table-service locations can accommodate guests within the established capacity limits."

Cancellations are on the table, I'm very glad I didn't tell my fam about Oga's.

Could be the case but the CM I talked to went to her supervisor and when she returned assured me my dining reservations wouldn’t be canceled. I was told if I had any issues to just call back so we’ll see. I’m going to choose optimism on this one and hope for the best.

It’s reported that an announcement is going around the parks that there’s no eating or drinking in line

I’m here now and went to AK today. I didn’t hear that announcement at all. I bought a beer before getting in line for FOP and asked the CM if the 35 min posted wait was accurate and if I had time to drink my beer. She joked I should bring a second.

It was heard in SWGE. Let me find the post

Quotes are below from the rumor thread.

This new spiel comes as something happened yesterday that i can't disclose, i don't have confirmation that it's only playing indoors but i was there this morning and didn't hear it outside.
If it's only playing indoors it makes tons of sense to me, i agree that preventing people from taking a sip while outside is a bit much

I’m here now and I could be wrong because I only half paid attention, but I can only remember hearing the no drinking/eating in line bit on indoor queues (definitely heard it inside RotR and MMRR). I’m on the outside part of the Smuggler’s Run queue and the whole spiel just played and it didn’t say anything about eating or drinking.

The no eating in line is a tough call. I think as long as you’re taking a drink and eating a small snack it’s fine. But if someone was hanging out in line next to you with their mask off drinking or eating the whole time I’d be annoyed. It’s not like you can easily move away from them in line.

I’m thinking people may have taken advantage and ate full meals in line and waited an hour or so without masks...I feel like it should be ok for a quick drink, but watch for any reports to be sure.

There have been reports on the WDW boards since the parks reopened of guests eating and drinking in lines the whole time with their masks hanging off one ear and smirking at other guests -- so obviously an intentional attempt to dodge to mask rules -- and CMs didn't say anything or the person took the mask right back off as soon as the CM walked away. Sounds like WDW may be trying to crack down on this in the inside queues.

I have not heard that spiel today at MK either. I haven’t attempted food/drinks in line (except sips of water) or noticed other people doing it either though. I talked to a CM at Skipper Canteen and she said they have been stricter with the masks lately. I will say that they seem pretty lenient with the little ones (kids wearing valve masks and lots of 2 year olds not wearing masks).

ETA - Mid-day I noticed the no food in line sign twice. I only heard the new spiel once at the end of the day. I do think sipping water would not be an issue.
