Movies you regret watching?

Dolores Claiborne - because of content... the ferry scene:scared1::scared1::scared1::sick:

Speed Racer - awful
Flintstones - awful
Veggie Tales Pirates who don't do anything - awful

Natural Born Killers - freak-show & badly done

Eyes wide shut - yikes

Pulp Fiction - the gimp scene still haunts me

These are my top regrets, there are others since I'm such a huge fan of movies but this list definately stands out.

Year's ago after dinner w/ DH's cousin & his fiance we decided to head to the movies, completely spontaneous, no pre-plan. After reviewing the choices, what each had already seen, movies we ruled out because we were familiar w/ them & didn't want to see, etc., we settled on the benign sounding True Romance.

I forced myself through 45 minutes, then excused myself to my DH, letting him know I didn't want to ruin anyone else's evening & would wait in the lobby. Someone from the theater asked me why I was waiting & I explained I just couldn't take the movie we'd selected. By the time he came back w/ the manager DH, his cousin & fiance had also bailed. We were leaving, w/ me apologizing for ruining their movie & they were more than glad I bailed because they had wanted to do the same. The manager stopped us & said he wanted to give us free passes for another movie.

That was very generous considering we were the idiots for picking a really violent movie all on our own.

FYI, True Romance is a Quentin Tarrentino movie that maybe is very well done if you like that type of movie. If you don't & wander in expecting a pleasant, mediocre, date-night type flick it's more than a bit much.

DOGVILLE - with Nicole Kidman, hands down the worst movie I have ever seen, well skipped through. It's also the only movie I ever after forwarding through it, stopped, and drove 15-miles back to the rental store to complain about. Words simply cannot describe the "idiocy" that is this movie.

I LOVE The Mist, even bought the dvd.

I regret watching The Black Swan Everyone was telling me I had to see it, it's fantastic, and although the acting was great, it put me in a "disturbed" mood. Too darkly psychological for me. I wish I hadn't seen it.

Four weddings and a funeral!! WORST MOVIE EVER

*GASP* Blasphemy! I love most British films though.

I forgot about one until I saw another post about it, Waterworld with Kevin Costner. WTH was that all about??

I had never walked out of a movie in my life until then.
Oh yes, almost forgot, any movie with Richard Gere

Shopgirl.... just awful...

I also fall asleep to movies directed by clint eastwood..

I know opinions vary within a large and diverse group, I'm shocked by some of the responses! Did somebody actually write that he regrets seeing "Lost in Translation"'? I view it as one of the greatest achievements of the last decade! Actually, I think the poster in this thread is the first person I've ever encountered who wasn't enchanted by it! It's threads like this that make this message board so interesting. I end up meeting people with completely different viewpoints.

Keep the responses coming! I'm enjoying this thread.

I wasn't the PP that posted it, but I also did not enjoy Lost in Translation!

Road to Wellville (walked out of the theater)

Oh I liked this movie...

Sounds like somebody saw "Human Centipede".

:lmao:

So sorry.

UGG!!!! I never even watched the whole movie...just the trailer that sombody here on DIS posted a link to.

It disturbed me for MANY nights! I STILL get disturbed if I think about it for too long.

Speed Racer - awful
Veggie Tales Pirates who don't do anything - awful
.

I LOVED speed racer. I'm talking absolutely LOVED it. Did you watch it on bluray? It looks so amazing on it.

I loved the pirates who don't do anything. Then again I watched with the kids and I was drinking beer at the time.

:hyper:

I agree! The second POTC just totally lost me...and seemed to be nothing more than filler 'til the third one came out...which I tried to watch on tv, but was lost...was just an endless parade of bad teeth

:rotfl::rotfl2:

There have been a few movies that I thought...OK.... but there is one movie that I regretted watching as a kid. I was The Howling. I was scared to death after watching that movie. Couldn't sleep for weeks and walking through the woods around my parents house was something I didn't do for a very long time by myself.

AntiChrist. I mean what in the world? I love art house movies as much as the next person but this one left me :confused3
