We like to watch movies that relate to the rides/shows before going to the parks. What movies would be good to see before going to Universal. I know MIB and ET, Barney if you are unlucky like me (lol), and Jaws. What else?

We always look forward to doing this before our trip too! Here is a list leaving out the ones you already mentioned.

Movies:

Twister
Terminator
Earthquake
Back to the future
Jurassic Park
Scooby Cartoons

Books:

Curious George
Dr Seuss

BTW....Although my kids have now outgrown Barney...I'm kinda sad because I really enjoyed the show! I already asked if we could "do it" this comming trip and got a "NO"! Guess I will have to go alone.;)

Don't forget Spiderman! The ride has different characters, but it's still Spidy! :)

Kids will already be familiar, I'm sure, with the Nick Characters...but the Jimmy Neutron movie might be fun to see beforehand...and Shrek (I don't know when you're visiting, the attraction isn't open just yet yet)

Of course, the Incredible Hulk movie will be coming out too...

Storm Force is supposed to be an X-men kinda theme, I think, but it's really sort of just cups and saucers

It's good to review your superheroes and villains via comic books, I guess too... ;)

Jessica, too bad that you aren't going in April--I would gladly let you bring my 3yo to Barney while I went on MIB a few (dozen) times. :)

OMG! I left out Spiderman:confused:

Karen,

Thanks for adding more great idea's to my list for the boys! They and I thank you:)

OMG! I left out Spiderman

I KNOW!!!   I couldn't believe it myself!!! ;)

You are welcome...I know when I first went, I didn't know who some of the comic book people were...Dr. Doom, etc...

Karen :smooth:

Don't forget about the music. I listen to the 3 Mythos Cds on the drive up.
Mythos - Mythos
Mythos - Reality of a Dreamer
Mythos - Eternity

X-Men is a good idea except that I've been threatening to boycott all X-Men products until they feature Gambit in a prominent role in one of the movies but oh well...

As for movies what about Beetlejuice? And the Grinch? And also catching the old Dudley Do-Right and Popeye cartoons? I like the idea of checking all of these out first. :)

Speaking of movies, will IOA have a Daredevil run around? Oh, and I think a HHN haunted house based on "Blade II" would be kind of neat. You can have Reapers jumping out at you! :)

And don't forget the Universal Monsters, especially the ones you may meet, Frankenstein, Dracula, and Wolfman. Maybe some Woody Woodpecker cartoons? Dr. Seuss movies and books, especially Cat in the Hat; If I Ran the Zoo; and Red Fish, Blue Fish. And the Fievel movies.. And maybe you can find something that shows some of the other classic characters you find aound the Park, like Ghost Busters; Betty Boop; Marx Brothers and Charlie Chaplin?

Don't forget the Blues Brothers! My son and I saw it on TBS just last week.

I wanted to add that Michael saw NONE of the movies in USF before visiting when he was 6. The rides just peaked his interest in them. When he DID get to see them, the fact that he had been on the rides just made them more enjoyable.

BTW, I saw MIB for the first time last year. BOY, it was fun to see what all those buildings and aliens really meant! :earseek:

Gee whiz, I need to get busy watching movies! Good thing I still have my Netflix membership, at least for the movies that are on DVD. Thank you for all the great ideas!
