So, Beauty and the Beast (live action) is set to open on March 17, 2017. Will it be shown on any of the ships? The Fantasy will be running a Star Wars cruise that ends on the 18th. If it's shown at all (being that the cruise celebrates another movie franchise), when would they show it and can anyone go or are tickets limited?

When Disney premiers a new movie, it also premiers at sea. First showing - usually 12:01 the day it opens on land. That's midnight when the 16th becomes the 17th. If it's going to be extremely popular (like Star Was was) they may do tickets. But, usually there's plenty of room. Sometimes it may run in both the Walt Disney Theater and the Buena Vista to ensure that everyone has a seat.

Yes,it would be playing if they follow true to form and history of movie PremEARS. :) And since Star Wars days at sea are only one day out of 7, it should be great.

There are no tickets, you just go. We have seen several movies premier and never had any issues with seating or getting in.

Will they likely show it throughout the day of the 17th or just at midnight?

There'll probably be multiple showings. I was on the Magic on the day that Big Hero 6 premiered and not only was it shown in both theatres, but they had several other showings between other movies in the Buena Vista Theatre.

we just watched Pete's Dragon on the Dream!

Last July we were on the Dream Ant Man Premeared. It was shown at Midnight, and it ran several times a day during the cruise. So what ever time Beauty and the Beast starts, it will start on the ship. If it were say Star Wars or Pirates, and it Premeared say Thurs at 930 pm, it would also start at 930PM on Thurs night on the ship.

We watched the premiere of King Arthur when we sailed in '04. Literally the only reason I remember that film.

I'm in agreement with the other posters. On the Magic last February, McFarland USA premiered on our cruise, they also had a midnight showing, but it played numerous times the remainder of the cruise.

Dang we sail 3/10-3/13 and will just miss it! Hopefully there will be a great movie showing for our dates!

I was on the Fantasy in the same time frame. It was kind of annoying how much they played it after the "premiEAR"considering I had zero interest in it. LOL.

Yeah...I didn't care much either. My parents went to see it twice onboard because they liked it so much, but I didn't see it until a couple of months later when it was on HBO. LOL

The weird thing is I was into running when it came out, but I had zero interest. Probably because I'm tired of that formula - team for some sport with underprivileged background overcomes and succeeds - usually with some dramatic bump along the way. True or not, it gets boring after a while. You know how it's ending before it starts! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

We had Pete's Dragon, The BFG, Finding Dory and one showing of Captain America Civil War. Dream 8/19 sailing...

We sailed the 8th-12th. Pete's Dragon opened on the 12th and was shown at 12:01 on the 12th in both theaters. It was way too late for us, since we debarked that next morning, but I think that's standard that they show it at that time when there's a new one coming out.

Since they do have a captive audience, it would be nice if they could show it the night before, especially if the next night is disembarkation day.
